"Yeah, but I didn't think that It was a big deal at the time." Ginger tells me.

I smile at my best friend and hand her the coffee I got for her as we get out of the car.

"Not a big deal? it's a offer of a lifetime! did you take it?" I ask as I let the warmth of my tea heat up my hands.

"Well... I mean... I don't know what I'm going to do. I know it's a huge deal, but at the same time I don't know if I'm ready. I mean, are my designs even good enough?" She asks quickly and frantically.

I giggle and she shoots me a understanding glare.

"I know, I know.  I'm taking it too seriously." she says slowing down a bit.

"No, you're not. It's a serious deal with a serious company. You know your designs are great. Nobody knows fashion like Ginger Rhodes." I assure her with a bump of my hip.

She smiles and leans her head into me affectionately.

"Thanks T." she says before taking a sip of her coffee.

Her high heels click on the cement as we walk around the trails to get to the river for the picnic.

I swear this girl cares way too much about fashion and way to little about comfort.

She will wear heels on a hike.

My shoes, however, make no sound at all as we head down the trail.

"Oh! is that them?" Ginger asks pointing out two figures in the distance.

I look to see if I can pinpoint the figures as one of our friends, but one of them is a petite female who appears to be quite short and the other a large male.

I shake my head and something inside me causes me to whisper in response.

"That's not us." I say to her quietly as I hold out my arm to make her stop walking.

We are suppose to meet our friends here for a picnic... I didn't think anyone else even knew this place existed.

We found the old trail back when we were only in elementary school.

It leads down to a very clean pond. The place is beautiful and looks like it's out of a fairytale.

The larger figure then does something I would've never expected to see in my life.

He punches the girl in the stomach, and in a swift motion, grabs her by the shirt collar and holds her up to his face.

The punch alone was so hard, I don't know how she isn't screaming in pain.

Ginger shrieks before covering her mouth in horror. My adrenaline kicks in before I can stop myself.

"Hey!" I scream as I take off full speed towards the two figures.

The larger figure drops the smaller figure and takes off, leaving her in a heap on the gravel.

The woman lays on the cement clutching her stomach.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" Ginger squeals quietly from behind me. Her heels aren't meant for running and there's no way she can keep up.

"Ginger, stay with her, and get her into the car!" I tell her.

She nods and bends down to help the poor woman as I sprint after the attacker.

He looks behind his shoulder and I catch a fairly good glimpse of his face.
