Chapter 5

Charlotte was woken up to the sound of something outside. She slowly got out of bed, wondering if it could be Katie. She walked out of her room, still in her pajamas and checking Katie's room. She was sound asleep, so it couldn't be her. Who could be at this time of night?

Its been two days since the sacrifice happened. She went to the funeral for John and Jenna, crying along with Elena. She cried worse when she found out about Damon is dying from a wolf bite. She has been trying to find a way to save him, any way possible, barely getting any sleep until Katie literally forced her to sleep out of concern for her friend.

This was the first night in two days to get a full night of sleep and it was peaceful. Until she woke up to the loud noise outside. She's surprised that Katie didn't hear it, yet she was a deep sleeper even with her vampire hearing. She could sleep through anything, making it hard for Charlotte to wake her up sometimes.

Charlotte slowly headed downstairs and went towards her door. She opened it up and didn't seen anyone, glancing down when hearing someone breathing. Her eyes went wide when see a sleeping, naked Klaus laying on her front porch.

"What the hell?

"Elijah, you need to get your ass over to my house." Charlotte said, standing in the living room.

After she found Klaus, she invited him in and got him into the house. So, now he is laying on the couch, only a blanket covering him. She wasn't sure why she help him, probably cause she felt bad for him in some ways. It has to do with something with her knowing that they were in love, and maybe him being a hybrid as well. A different kind of hybrid, but both being part vampire.

"Why? Is something wrong with you?" Elijah asked, worriedly.

She shook her head, even though he can't see her,"No, nothing is wrong with me. I'm alright. But that's not the issue."

"What is it?"

"Well, I found your brother on my porch. He was asleep and naked. Now, he is asleep on my couch."

"You let him in?!" Elijah shouted, making her wince.

"Maybe," She sighed,"Look, something just made me feel bad for him. I'm sorry. I don't know why I felt that way, but I did. And you know how cold it is out there? He was probably cold." She glanced over at his sleeping figure, shaking her head at him.

"Is he alright?" He sighed.

"He is covered in dirt and stinks, meaning he will need a shower. I think I might have some clothes for him. Where are you anyways?"

"Cleaning up the mess that Klaus has made," Elijah said, like it was no big deal.

"Great, more dead people," Charlotte sighed,"Just come as soon as you can."

"I will."

They both hung up and she watched as Klaus stirred in his sleep. She crossed her arms over her chest as he slowly woke up. He sat up and looked around the living room, confused.

"Where am I?" He muttered.

"My house," Charlotte spoke up. He turned to look at her. She nodded at him,"You showed up on my porch. I figured to me nice and help you."

He looked at her bewildered,"You helped me? Why?"

"Because Elijah told me about us. How we use to be in love with each other. It made me feel bad for you."

"He told you?" Klaus asked and she slowly nodded,"And you believe him?"

"I can sense he's lying. Why would he anyways?"
