"So.. what are you gonna call him?" Julie asked Marcus Charles as he played with the pup.
Julie and I are now ready to go to school. Marcus Charles busied himself playing with the puppy while Julie and I prepared earlier.
"What are we gonna call him?" Marcus Charles looked at me for an answer.
I shrugged, "We can call him doggie." I declared.
Julie and Marcus Charles erupted in laughter, I guess they were not expecting it.
"How original Sam." Julie chortled.
I sighed in response, "I'm dead serious."
Julie laughed some more while Marcus Charles sobered up. "If that's what you want. Totally up to you." He grinned. Petting the now sleeping puppy.
"Now that Doggie is fast asleep, we can all go to class safely." I announced.
Julie stopped laughing and checked her watch, her eyes bulging in alarm, "We are so late." She gasped.
"In that case, I'll go ahead." Marcus Charles stood up, giving Doggie one last pat on the head.
Julie and I followed behind him, he rode his bike while Julie and I situated ourselves inside my car.
"Really Sam?!" Julie scoffed.
I gave her a what-the-hell-did-I-do-now look.
"Doggie? Is that name even appropriate?" She pointed out, still annoyed at the name I had given my new pet.
Hey, It's my pet..
I pouted at her as I drove us to school. "Marcus Charles didn't seem to mind." I blurted out.
"He is patronizing you. Dimwit." She commented.
I didn't reply because I don't know if what she was saying was true or not.
We arrived at school 10 minutes late. Mr. Lith was already done with the attendance.
Julie cowered behind me, she hates being at the center of attention. So I greeted Mr. Lith, "Good morning sir." I smiled at him sweetly.
"Miss Collins.. what's good in the morning if you're late in my class?" He asked, noticing Julie behind me.
"Nothing is ever good when you're teaching in our class." I muttered, my classmates laughed.
"What's that?!" Mr. Lith inquired. As you noticed, he had some kind of hearing problem.
I was about to repeat what I had said when Julie grabbed my arm, "Sam said that we're sorry we're late, and that it will never happen again, sir."
"Miss McBride, you may take your seat." Mr. Lith ordered. "As for you Miss Collins, we have to talk."
I gulped hard. Is he serious right now? I remained standing in front, as Julie glanced my way. I nodded at her.
"So. Miss Collins, it is not a secret that you are failing this class. Yes I have given you B- on your last presentation, I'm even impressed you can do that, but it's not enough to pull your grades up." Mr. Lith said pacing infront of me, like an attorney persuading the witness to confess his crimes.
Did he have to broadcast it? I mean, really?
"I'm giving you the chance to choose your tutor in this class. Except for Ms. McBride of course, cause I think you'll distract each other. And piece of advice Ms. Collins, do choose wisely as your grades depend on it." He finished gesturing for me to choose my tutor.
I can feel the love of my classmates seeing them all avoiding my gaze and lowering their heads. I sighed in defeat, Julie was really my only option.
As I scan the room, I noticed Marcus Charles raising his hand.
"Yes Mr. Omarion?" Mr. Lith asked.
"I volunteer to be her tutor Mr. Lith." Everyone's head turned to the farthest corner of the room.
Ah.. surprise surprise..
"How nice of you to sacrifice yourself Mr. Omarion. But the decision is still up to Ms. Collins." Mr. Lith beamed facing my direction.
Uh-oh. I smell trouble. Since nobody seems to want to tutor me, I have no choice but to be grateful he even volunteered.
"Um. Sure." I breathed, not entirely sure about my decision at all.
"Excellent choice Miss Collins. Now I don't have to worry about you failing this subject. You already know that Mr. Omarion topped this class before he-erm, left." Mr. Lith explained.
No, I didn't know that.
I saw Marcus Charles grinned at my confusion.

Well, we were in the same class. He was this quiet, brooding guy at the corner of the room. That's why he didn't caught my attention. He was too mysterious for my liking. I like guys who are active, not necessarily a jock, but someone who actually...
