After the final bell rang for the school day, Harry and I picked up our school bags, and slid our way around the throngs of students who were eager to get home. I couldn't blame them- school was alright so far, but who the hell preferred this place over the comfort of their own bed with access to unblocked Wifi?

Not me that's for sure.

Beside me, Harry stretched his slender arms out.

"Man, I'm so pumped for this!" He pounded his fist into the air. "I hope we get in."

"I sure hope so," I said. "I really need to make some new friends."

Harry stopped,, and looked at me with watery, puppy dog eyes.

"Hey! What about me?" He whimpered, clinging onto my arm.

"...I really new to make some new friends."

I snickered at his defeated expression, as we walked towards a vast, green field adorned with two netted goals at opposite ends. Upon spotting the field, Harry immediately sobered, getting into his "game mode"- whatever that meant. A muscled woman stood in the middle of the green; her white whistle contrasted with her mocha coloured skin, ebony hair pulled back tightly in a bun. A few kids were standing or stretching around her, waiting in anticipation for the try-outs to begin.

She blew her whistle and the students who were getting warmed up instantly broke out of their regime. Harry and I looked at each other, before falling into a slow jog into the direction of the teacher.

"Hi kids! I'm Ms. Khan," She introduced herself, orbs dancing in excitement. "I'd hope you know that you all are here to attempt to get into the soccer team right?"

Hums of confirmation sounded from the group of students. Ms Khan smiled.

"Great! I want girls on the left and boys on the right!"

"I guess this is were we split up," Harry said, looking down at me.

He shut his eyes in a grin and gave me a thumbs up.

"Do me proud!"

"Yes chief," I responded, giving him a salute.

He chuckled and ran off to the boys.

I smiled. That boy really did appear to be a sweetheart- a bit dense, but had a heart of gold. Well, that was what it seemed like anyway. I wasn't too sure. I had made mistakes before.

Sometimes it's the ones who you think you know the most, who turn about to be the most different.

"Hey you!"

I spun around to come face to face with a girl. She had thick black hair that cascaded down her back, and caressed the end of her spine. Her dark skin accented the gold of her burning eyes.

I immediately recognized her from my homeroom. But I had no idea what her name was. Debra? Denise? It's was something like that.

"Me?" I asked confused, pointing to my chest.

"Yes, you! Who else would I be talking to?" The girl snapped, rolling her eyes as if I had asked the most ridiculous question known to mankind.

Touchy.

"Well...what do you want?" I asked a bit ticked off, hand on hip.

She sneered.

"Stay away from Harry."
