Chapter Two

Vic Fuentes, I thought. Man, was he attractive. The man sitting before me was like an angel sent from the gods.

"I actually just moved here from California." He stated.

"Hm?" I mumbled, "California?"

"Yeah, I know big difference, right?" He took a big gulp of his coffee and swallowed hard, like he was trying to keep down the words that were about to come out of his mouth.

"So, uh," I twiddled my thumbs, "why here? I mean, out of all the places to move to, why did you come here?"

The second the question came out of my mouth, I regretted asking. He hesitated and stumbled on his words.

"Uh, well..." He looked around the shop and then back at me. "My boyfrie- ex boyfriend, uh, he was..." His voice shrunk, "um, not my type. I had to... leave."
He looked at me worriedly, but dismissed the topic immediately.

"Anyways," he rose his eyebrows, almost looking like he was trying to assure himself, "what about you? Who's Kellin?" He smiled at me eagerly.

Oh no, what am I to say? There's not much about me to be discussed about. All my past is just depressing shit. I don't want to scare him off. I want to make a good impression.

"Well, I, uh,..." I mumbled, but quickly gathered my courage, "I graduated from Clairemont High last year, I have been living with my mom, but, uh, who knows? That could change soon." I smiled. He only nodded. Shit, cmon Kells, think, think, think!

"I've been living here my whole life, never seen a place outside the state before. I know this town pretty well, you know. I'm pretty local." I took a swig of my coffee, which already had grown cold, since I forgot it was completely there; I guess I was too distracted by Vic.

Vic nodded again and took a sip of his coffee. "Maybe you could show me around a bit?" He smiled.

A smirk tugged at the corners of my lips and I nodded. That would be perfect.
