Really...really now?

It was Friday. My favourite day of the week. Yes, you have to go school and listen to your annoying teachers all day but the moment when that last bell rings you know you have the whole afternoon to yourself to do what you want. That's the way I see it. Anyway, when my mom came to pick me up after school today she also told me that my dad and her are going out for an End-of-Year function that her company is holding which I was very excited about because not only do I have the whole afternoon to myself, I also have the entire night to myself too(well, only up until 11pm)

I had the whole ME-TIME planned. You know, the usual: watch TV, eat ice-cream, read and see whats new on wattpad-which is my new favourite thing now, I cannot live without it, okay...maybe that's over-exaggerating but its true, thanks to my friend Theresah, I just love that child...but coming back-eat as much chocolate as I can and watch more TV and leave the homework, projects and assignments for Sunday. By the way, procrastination and I are best friends.

When my parents came home after work I helped them get ready, especially my mom, like helping her with her jewellery, her shoes etc....but my dad, on the other hand, he's colour blind so his shirt and pants were so wrong for each other. Yep, it's like putting pink(my favourite colour) with brown(yucki) Anyway, as they left my dad was kind enough to buy me a burger and chips, with coke and ice-cream from McDonalds, not my favourite as I wanted spicey chicken wings but heyyy...Food is Food. Just as I am about to sit down and eat the phone rings.....

"Hello"

"Hey Pops, listen, you going to have some company tonight. My cousin is coming with his daughter, nephew and another girl from Japan."

Really...really now? I thought my life was about to end. There goes my night alone with unlimited TV watching, wattpad, ice-cream and chocolate. All I could reply back was "Okay, but who dad?"

"You remember Shantel, your cousin? She came before with her dad to spend the holiday."

"Ohhh yaaa, I remember. Okay, so what time will they be here?"

"In the next 10 minutes"

"So quick? Wait....uhm dad, what about food?" You see, since my parents were going out my mom didn't make any supper and since my dad bought me my supper there was no need to cook.

"Don't you worry, I'll get the food. I think I'll get Nándo's for them."

"Okay, I'll go make some snacks" And then we said our goodbyes and cut the call. This was something I really did not enjoy. I mean, its been so long since I've seen Shantel and she's so much fun! The thing is I was just not in the mood for company, I just wanted to be alone. Anyway, after I kissed my ME-TIME goodbye I waited for my family to arrive and went to put on something more appropriate because I doubt your family wants to see you in shorts and an oversized shirt, especially if you haven't seen them after so long.

So 5 minutes later, and they still haven't shown up.

So another 5 minutes after that and they still haven't shown up.

Another 5 minutes later.

And another 5 minutes later.

Eventually I got tired of waiting and was about to call my dad when I heard a car hooter at the front gate. I opened the gate with the remote and waited patiently to see my family that I haven't seen in so long while missing each and every moment of my ME-TIME(and by the looks of it, I think you can see I love my ME-TIME) As I am going down the front stairs to the driveway I realized that they are scared of my dogs, who are quite friendly actually but just look terrifying.

"Don't worry, they don't bite. They're friendly" I tired explaining through the glass window which was closed shut. After listening to me they, eventually, got out of the car. I saw my uncle, uncle Sam, who I happily greeted. I then greeted my cousin, Micheal, and a very pretty looking Japanese girl who was unbelievably friendly and whose accent was so cute. After greeting everyone there was one person left, my cousin Shantel.

It has been so long since I've seen her....almost 5 or 6 years since I last saw her, I think....and...well....let's just say that those two things there in front are definitely not fake. I felt like the oranges near the watermelons on the fruit stand at FRUIT-LOVERS MARKET.

Really...really now Mia?

THIS IS JUST THE FIRST CHAPTER AND INTRODUCTION OF THE BOOK, IT MAY SEEM A LITTLE BIT BORING BUT PLEASE JUST GIVE IT A TRY.
