Chapter 4 Welcome to Wonderland

"Well then. I don't know how to process this." I said staring at the paper in Mabel's hand.

"Do you think that's why Bill gave us the backpacks?"

"I don't know, maybe." I picked up the envelope that Bill gave me and looked inside.

"What the-"

A bright light filled the room and blinded me.
When the light cleared I found I wasn't in the attic anymore.

"Dipper. Look at your clothes." I looked down and saw I was in a suit. A weird blue and white suit.

"Mabel where are we?"

I looked up at her and saw she was bouncing up and down with excitement.

"Dipper do you know where we are?"

"No. That's why I asked you if you knew."

"Look around! You're always solving mysteries you should be able to solve this one!"

I looked around the dark cavern expecting to see stone walls and a low ceiling. Instead I was greeted by a seemingly endless ceiling, climbing up and on forever, a multi colored floor, and walls made of what seemed to be gems and precious metals.

"Do you know where we are yet?"

"No. I've only been wondering, HOW WE GOT HERE!" I said snapping at her.

"You don't need to be rude. If you need another hint look at the table." Mabel pointed over at a small table in the middle of the cavern.

I walked over to it and picked up the small bottle on top. It was filled with a blue liquid with the words "Drink Me" in cursive on the side.

"Now do you know?!"

"This is something from-"

"ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND!" Shouted Mabel. "I want the first drink!"

"Mabel no! We have no idea what's in here!"

"Too bad!" She grabbed the vile out of my hands, drinking the blue liquid. Right before my eyes Mabel shrunk down to the size of a mouse.

"You're so tiny! I don't want to step on you, so come here." I put my hand on the ground and Mabel crawled on.

I set her down on the table and went to pick up the now half empty bottle off the ground.

"What's this?"

In a little box sat two small cakes with "Eat Me" on top. I picked up the box and the bottle and set them on the table with a thunk.

"THERE'S SUPPOSED TO BE A KEY!"

I looked down at Mabel who had her hands around her mouth, shouting her lungs out. I gave her a quizzical look not understanding.

"A KEY!" Mabel shouted again.

I put me hands on the underside of the table and felt for something that wasn't wood. I got on my hands and knees to look under and I saw a skeleton key taped to the underside.

"THE KEY!"

"Yes the key. Now what do I do with it?"

Mabel pointed over to a wall where a small door was. The weirdest thing that happened was that it said hello. A door said hello. I looked over to Mabel to see if she was as freaked out as I was but she was waving and smiling like when she saw the movie.

"YOU HAVE TO UNLOCK THE DOOR!"

"I get that, just, that thing is freaky."

Mabel frowned grabbed the key and jumped off the table. I thought she was going to become a grease spot on the ground but her skirt poofed up and acted like a parachute.

She walked over to the door and started a conversation. A conversation with a door. Soon she walked over and pulled on my pant leg to get attention. I picked her up again and set her on the table. Mabel told me that once the door was open there was no going back.

"We need to bring the backpacks."

"Mabel what if there's a bomb in one?!"

"I don't think there would be. Just grab them and bring the "Eat Me" cakes."

"Fine."

I walked over to the backpacks and picked them up. Surprisingly they seemed heavier. With my backpack on my back I jogged over to Mabel and shoved the cakes in her backpack.

"Now put one drop of the drink on the backpacks and leave them on the table."

I did what Mabel said and before my eyes it shrank, just like Mabel had. She skipped over to the now shrunk backpack and put it on.

"Now drink the last of the bottle."

"What! I don't know what's in there!"

"I drank it and I was fine."

"I'm not you!"

"We're twins! Trust me."

I picked up the bottle and uncapped it.

"Down the hatch." I mumbled drinking the last of it.

A burning feeling came over me and as quickly as it came it was gone. When I looked up Mabel was the same height and I wasn't a giant any more.

"Come on bro, bro. Let's go to wonderland." She said with a smile and a held out hand.
