I don't know why Blake sent Lisa to do my hair, but I won't complain because it looked good, and Ashaunte did a good job with my makeup. I look like I actually have somewhere important to be.
Before they left, Lisa gave me a note. It had my name on it just like the one from this morning. I opened it, hoping it would explain something.
You're probably wondering what the hell is going on, but you'll find out sure enough, my beautiful wife.
Now, I want you to go upstairs to our room and look at your gift on the bed.
I love you,
P.S. Lisa & Ashaunte did a good job on your hair & makeup because you look gorgeous. But that's nothing new.
I put the note in my back pocket and carried Brielle with me to the bedroom. On the bed, there were two boxes, a Victoria's Secret bag and of course, another note.
I know you're probably tired of all these damn notes, but oh well.
I got you something I knew you'd look sexy in, so go ahead and put it on.
Oh, and Jordan will be there soon to pick up Brielle. Don't ask any questions; she just wants to give you the night off.
I set the note down and looked at the two boxes. I opened them, and there was a red lace dress in one and black Saint Laurent pumps in the other. If Blake picked this out by himself, he has good taste.
I looked in the Victoria's Secret bag, and there was a black bra with a matching pair of underwear. He really does have good taste.
After I laid everything on the bed, the doorbell rang. Assuming it was Jordan, I got Brielle and went downstairs to open the door.
"Hey, Bri Bri!" Jordan said, making Brielle giggle.
"Let me go get her —"
"Don't need it," she said, taking Brielle, "I already have her stuff."
I would've asked her how that's possible, but it's obvious Blake has been very busy.
I gave Brielle a kiss and told Jordan bye, then went back upstairs to try that dress on.
Everything was going as planned. The boys are coming to the party with DJ & Monique, and Deshawn & Jordan are gonna bring Brielle. All I have to do now is get dressed and pick up Bri.
After I took Brielle's dress to Jordan's house, I had to go back to DJ's house to get ready. I put on black pants, a red dress shirt and black shoes. I put on my watch and got my jacket then went downstairs.
Monique texted me and said people were showing up, so I left to go home.
"Bri, where are you?" I asked, walking into the house.
A couple of seconds passed, and she came down the stairs in the dress and shoes, looking perfect.
"Woah," I said under my breath, "you look amazing."
She walked up to me, and I wrapped my arms around her. "Did you pick this out by yourself?" she asked, referring to her outfit.
"Yep, and it looks good on you like I knew it would."
She smiled, and I leaned down to give her a kiss.
"Why are you so dressed up?" she asked with her eyebrows furrowed, "you do look nice though."
"Thank you. I'm taking you out somewhere."
She looked at me skeptically, "okay. Can I get my purse?"
"Nope. You don't need it."
She nodded and got her phone out of the living room so we could go.
When we got to the venue, I had to assure Bri that we were in the right place since all of the lights were out.
We walked through the double doors, the lights came on, and everyone yelled "surprise!"
Her eyes watered, and she turned her back so no one could see her tears. I put an arm around her, and she turned back around.
I couldn't believe I was standing in this room full of my family & friends. This was a nice surprise, but I don't understand what this is for.
"What is this?" I asked Blake as our friends approached us.
"We wanted to show our appreciation for you," Blake said.
"Yeah. We feel like we never tell you we appreciate you," Monique said, "and you rarely do anything for yourself anymore, so."
I smiled at my husband & friends, then someone came to take a picture of the six of us. I walked around the room to talk to everyone, and I even cried when I saw Octavia. With her being in the military, I don't see her like I used to, so it means a lot that she's here.
After I danced with the boys, my dad & Blake, my grandma walked up to us.
"You look cute, Louise," I said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
"Girl, I know. But why is this dress so short?" she asked, slapping the back of my thigh, "all your stuff might as well be hangin' out."
"Ow! Grandma, Blake picked the dress out."
"Mhm, I bet he did." She smirked, and Blake & I laughed. "Anyway, I love you, baby girl."
"I love you too, Weezy."
I kissed her cheek, and the photographer snapped a picture. She went back to the table with my parents, and my aunt brought Brielle to me.
"Bri, there's someone I want you to meet," Blake said as this woman walked in our direction, "Bri, this is Jade. She's the one that helped us put the party together."
I always thought when I met her, I would try to fight her on sight. Also, she's not as ugly as I had hoped. She's not dropped dead gorgeous, but Blake would definitely sleep with her if he had a couple of drinks in him.
"So you're the one that kept calling him at three in the morning," I said with a fake smile.
"Sorry about that. I just wanted to make sure this party was special for you," she cringed, "but you're so lucky to have Blake. I wish I had someone to do something like this for me."
She placed her hand on his bicep and looked up at him like she was in love. She is really trying me.
"I know, right?" I said, pushing her hand off his arm, "I'm very lucky."
She scowled at me, and I smiled to let her know that I was completely unfazed by that look.
"I hate to be rude, but I have more important people to talk to, but it was nice meeting you," I lied.
I grabbed Blake's hand, and we went to go talk to someone, anyone, else.
"I don't like her," I said to Blake.
He chuckled. "I know you don't but after tonight, you won't even have to worry about her."
He kissed my lips, and Brielle grabbed his face, which I thought was funny.
I moved her hand from his face, and she looked up at me and started babbling, making Blake laugh. I sat her in Blake's lap, since she likes him more than me, and I continued to enjoy the rest of the night with my family & friends.
