Oh shit. I just had to find my fucking mate.
He sat down in the seat next to me. My wolf was jumping up and down. His smell was just so intoxicating.
I looked at him with my eyes bulging out of their sockets. I wanted nothing to do with him and I was scared shit of what could happen if I got too close to him.
The teacher came in and I looked away from my devilishly handsome mate.
I could feel that he was still staring at me, but I refused to look at him.
I just stared at the front of the classroom the entire time.
I was so thankful when the bell finally rang.
I grabbed all of my stuff and rushed out of the room.
I think I heard my mate yell wait or stop at me, but I just started walking faster away from him.
Unfortunately, he has longer legs than me so he quickly caught up to me.
He grabbed my arm to stop me.
"Why'd you run you away from me?" He asked.
I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned up against the lockers.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said not wanting to give him an answer for that.
"Quit acting dumb." He said sternly.
"I was taught that no one likes a quitter." I shot back.
"Don't be that way." He told me.
"What do you want?" I hissed.
"My name's Hunter. And yours is?" He asked.
"Venus." I said in a quiet whisper.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl." He complimented.
"Don't pull all that cheesy romantic shit at me." I scolded.
"Why'd you rush out of the classroom? I know that I'm part of the reason, but why?" He asked again.
I guess I had to give him an answer this time.
"I don't want a mate."
He looked as if I had slapped him.
I didn't feel like talking to him anymore so I turned and walked away without saying another word.
Luckily, he didn't try to stop me.
"So, you're Hunter's mate?" A ginger with a big smile popped out of nowhere and said this to me.
She was cute. She was all perky and she was probably only about 5'2".
"I guess so." I said not sounding nearly as enthusiastic as she did.
"You don't have to say it like it's the worst thing that could've possibly happened to you. I mean I know he can be an asshole sometimes, but he can be really sweet once you get to know him." She babbled.
"Who are you?"
"My name's Sheila. The future beta is my mate. That's why I know H so well. My mate, Jason, is his best friend so us and some other people all hang out together." She explained.
I just nodded.
"You really aren't that excited to have the future alpha as your mate, are you?" She asked.
As if a mate isn't already bad enough. He just so happens to be a fucking alpha.
"Just give him a chance, though. I think that he at least deserves a chance. Don't you?" She said.
"I don't even know the guy. He hasn't proved that he deserves anything." I told her.
"Then you should try to get to know him and spend time with him before you judge him." Sheila said.
"I'll admit that you do have a very good point there, but I don't really need a mate right now." I told her.
"Will you eat lunch with us?" She asked.
"What the hell. Why not?"
"Yay! I'm sure the whole gang will love you. Especially H because, well, he can't help it." She said.
Sheila and I were in math class together. We sat in the back so we could talk to each other.
After getting to know her, I stopped being a bitch to her and talked with a little more enthusiasm.
She was actually really cool. I liked her.
She even told me stories about Hunter, or I guess everyone liked to call him H.
Hunter was a player and had slept with a lot of girls. I wasn't too happy about that, but it is what it is.
Although, Sheila told me that now that he found me he would never touch another girl like that. Maybe it was a little reassuring to hear that he wouldn't cheat on me.
But other than that he sounded like any other teenage boy. Cocky, stupid, and reckless.
And she's told me about how sweet he his and how he'll stand up for people who are getting picked on or something.
He sounded like an overall good guy, but I still wasn't too ecstatic about having an alpha mate.
It was now lunchtime and Sheila met me at my locker so we could walk to lunch together.
We walked down to the cafeteria and to a table with a mixture of boys and girls.
"Everyone, this is Venus." Sheila introduced me.
"What are you doing with the rogue?" One guy growled out.
He pulled Sheila to his chest.
"She's my new friend. She's also Hunter's mate.". She told him.
Apparently, that guy was her mate, Jason.
He was very overprotective over her, especially when it came to rogues.
She had been attacked by rogues and he had rescued her.
She then told me everyone's name.
Dylan was the only other one at the table with a mate besides Sheila, me, and our mates.
I got to meet Hunter's twin sister, Jade. She was real nice.
He was supposedly the oldest of seven children.
I hope that if I agree to do this whole mate thing with him, he won't expect me to have seven fucking kids with him.
Lunch was a fun time getting to know everybody. Hunter kept me close sitting right next to me, but thankfully he didn't touch me.
It felt so nice to be with friends again. Maybe being a part of a pack again wouldn't be so bad.
But the mate part still scares me.
