Sometimes I wished I had it easy.
Unfortunately, I do not. So I gotta get my ass up at 8am most mornings and troop my ass to the diner I work at, Frantallic's Diner. I don't even know how I scored that job, I just walked in and yeah... Hired.
"Morning Jamie" I whispered in my sleepy voice
"Someone hasn't had their frappé!"
My question is why the hell is Jamie so damn jolly at 9:15 am? Jamie Tiller is my boss at the diner. He's pretty cool. Pretty young also. I don't even know his specific age but he can't be past 27. I should ask one day.
The diner isn't even that bad, it is pretty fun on most days. The most craziest customers come in. From a guy with a Hello Kitty hat and beat up bike to an old lady who tell her wise stories for hours. And hours. And hours! Overall, the diner is quite entertaining.
The day usually goes by fast. I make a good amount of tips today. Once 5pm hit I was out that door and making my way down to the L train. I love the trains, I really do, however it is one of those transportations that you will most likely need music for. Guess who has no music at the moment? You guessed right, my friend Jayson.
Jayson works at the diner with me. That's how him and I met actually. Jayson Perry is the life of the party. He's like your Monday and Friday; you hate him and you love him.
"Why I never have headphones on the busiest times of the day like I'm tired of this! Share headphones with me!" Jayson whined
"No Jayson," I calmly replied
I didn't even put my headphones in. I don't really have to when I'm with Jay. We talked throughout the ride and the transfer to Union Square.
"City girl, city girl! Where shall we head to on this Friday night?"
Jayson is not from the city. At all. Jay is from the Albany, GA. He hated it there. He fled as soon as he had the chance. Hey, can't blame him.
"I don't know. Come home with me" I replied.
"Not sure you're quite my type love," Jayson slurred.
I gave him the finger and walked up the crowded stairs as he followed behind. If you didn't guess, Jayson is gay. And proud. I love and support it.
It takes about 5 minutes to reach my apartment from the train station. However, Jayson and I stopped to a couple of stores and food spots to stack up. That's how it is with me. I'm not a party girl. I'm a homebody. I prefer to work on a pet project than go to the club.
I love having a studio to be honest. It's the best thing for me. You know how you always wished you can have a kitchen in your room so you won't have to walk such a distance? See, that's why a studio is for me.
My studio is covered in plants. Like all types of plants. Flowers to leaves. It keeps me sane. That is what makes my house a home.
"You live in the Botanical Garden? Damn, its flowery in here" Jayson cried.
I would love to live in the Botanical Garden honestly. Seems peaceful. With Jayson, I need all the zen I can get.
For the next hours, Jay and I binged watched Criminal Minds of Netflix until he had to go home at 11.
"Oh I almost forgot, you should come with me to a party this weekend. All you need is a mask," Jayson stated
"A mask!? Oh no Jay!" I cried
"You're coming, I'll bring masks for us. Trust me. Pick ya up tomorrow at 7!"
A mask. I don't really like parties. However, I am all about adventure and challenging yourself. Well, time to challenge myself.
