24 | text messages and promises
When I woke up in the morning, I was laying on my side beside Evan who held me tightly against his chest. The light coming from the window is what woke me, I groaned, looking over at Evan who was soundly sleeping. I spotted my phone from the night stand. It lit up and buzzed, I stretched and grabbed it from the night stand and checked my messages. Tessa texted me, asking if I was having a good time. I quickly texted her back and said I was with a smiley face. Ryan had texted me also.
Ryan: why are you staying in Tennessee? South Carolina is way better.
Me: I just wanted to spend more time with Evan since we don't have that long together
Ryan: R u dating
Me: maybe
Ryan: omg
Me: what
Ryan: my otp!
Me: you have otps?
Ryan: yup. Gtg use protection 😉
Me: oh stfu
I rolled my eyes and put my phone back on the table, settling back in. I was still tired from staying up so late, I didn't realize it but when we went up to Evan's room it was almost midnight. No wonder I was so exhausted. A half an hour later, I woke up again from Evan's phone having a seizure on his desk.
"Good morning." I heard a whisper in my ear, a kiss planted behind my ear.
"Morning." I replied back, groaning. "Sleep okay?" Evan nodded.
"Yeah, you?" I nodded in response. He exhaled deeply and loudly and removed his arm from around my waist, getting up out of bed. I stayed inside the warm covers, curling up into a tiny ball hugging myself. I was too tired to get up out of the warm bed.
"You can borrow a t-shirt and shorts from me," Evan said as he slipped on a t-shirt and some basketball shorts. "If you want."
"Okay." I sighed, stretching my arms wide and yawning. He walked over to the nightstand near the bed, put on his black-rimmed glasses and then pulled out the drawer, taking out an orange prescription bottle and popping two pills. I look at him with confusion. "Medication. For my anxiety and...yeah. Anxiety." I nodded, flipping over on my back, and stretching my arms again, yawning again.
"You said you didn't take medication-"
"I meant yeah when I said that. That's probably the thing that's helping me." He said. I looked away and shrugged to myself. I yawned again.
"Stop your yawning," Evan said kiddingly, a grin on his face. "It's contagious." I giggled, going to yawn again. He rolled his eyes playfully and went over to the drawer and pulled out a t-shirt and basketball shorts and tossed them on the bed. "You hungry?" I shook my head.
"I don't eat breakfast," I answered, sitting up and covering my chest with the sheets. I wasn't as confident as Evan who had just got up out of the bed and walked over to get himself dressed without anything to cover himself. Even though he saw...all of me yesterday night, I still wasn't exactly that confident.
"That's kind of unhealthy."
"I know but I can't eat too early in the morning. It'll make me feel really sick."
"It's twelve in the afternoon."
"Oh...is it really?" He nodded, rolling his eyes playfully at me and then grabbing his iPhone off the desk. His smile then turned into a frown as he stared down at his screen. I could see that he was texting someone from his glasses, but I couldn't see what the contact name said. I looked at him with a puzzled look and asked. "What?" Evan looked up at me and shook his head, looking down at his phone again.
