You sighed deeply as the welcoming sight of Jerusalem appeared, your horse trotted forward down the mountain side and into the valley. The soft breeze encircled your hair blowing it around your face and your hood. You lead your horse over to a nearby tree and dismounted (him/her). You ran your hand along their neck and across their cheek, they turned their head into your chest as your rubbed (his/her) ears. You reached up and unbuckled the reins off your horse's head, you set them aside the tree and then removed the saddle. You clicked your tongue and your horse instantly took off into the grassy field ahead of you, you giggled. It had been a while since you let (y/hn) do this, (he/she) enjoyed running in the free space. Memories flood back into your mind as you watch (y/hn)'s mane whip into wind.
You and Kadar were chasing each other outside of Masyaf, running around in the knee-high grass. You heaved deep breaths as you slowed to a stop, clutching your knees as beads of sweat ran down your face. Kadar was close behind you as he mirrored you only to fall on his front in the grass, you laughed between breaths.
"We. . .r-really out did each other this time huh?" you said as you dropped to your knees.
"H-hey, when we're adults. . .our stamina. . .will be alot better so I. . . will be able to catch you."
You chuckled and ruffled Kadar's hair, you two were suddenly alerted when you heard a small sound come from nearby.
"Did you hear that?" you asked, taking calmer breaths.
Kadar nodded as he got to his feet, you did the same.
"Look there!" Kadar pointed to a area of the grass, "I can see something moving there."
Worry filled your stomach, "It could be trouble."
"C'mon, it could be important!" Kadar started towards the 'thing'.
You followed close behind but constantly looked around in case of trouble, Kadar gasped once he looked upon what it was.
"What?!" you ran up beside Kadar as you saw what it was.
"It's a. . ."
"Foal!" Kadar finished.
A small (fav/col) foal lay amongst the tall grass, it was scared as it's eyes were wide, ears back and breathing fast.
"Hey there little guy? It's ok, we won't hurt you." Kadar soothed as he held his hand out to the infant.
The foal was startled and tried to get up but double over, you instantly pulled Kadar back.
"Kadar careful! It's a wild foal, it's herd is probably nearby."
You doubted your own words as you both looked around to see no other horse nor herd in sight.
"Y-you've heard the rumours. Wild horses being taken to serve as bloody slaves to the templars, being broken then used as mere steeds!"
Kadar's fists tensed til his knuckled bled white, your face saddened as you looked upon the helpless foal.
"It's gonna die out here alone if we don't do something!" Kadar looked at you with determined eyes, you knew that you couldn't beat this one.
"Ok." you sighed, "So what do we do?"
Kadar went silent for a moment, staring at the little foal.
"You try and get close to it."
"What?" your eyes widened.
"Hey, it didn't like me, you try."
