Twenty-One

Night

My eyes opened and I was still in the coffee shop with Malikai. My head was down on the table and a few people were looking at me as if I was crazy or weird or something. I only took that as I must have fainted or something when I abandoned the body to go look for Evian. I must have been gone for a long time as well because Malikai had about two empty cups of coffee in front of himself and he was playing his PSP as he waited on me. I sat up and he looked over at me turning his game off when he saw that someone was in control of the body again.

“Dude you just freaked out you know.” He said and I frowned because I knew that I personally didn’t just freak out. I was dealing with other things so something must have taken control while Evian and I were dealing with Dian. Evian. I felt dirty making the deal with him but with Dian so broken right now and the mind filling with darkness it would be impossible for me to be the only one to control the body.

I would need rest as well sooner or later so the deal with Evian was the only way that I was going to ever get that. Malikai was still looking at me as if he thought that I was going to start freaking out again any moment now. I wasn’t freaking but the sour taste was bugging me. It had been for a few hours now but I tried to ignore it. The door was opened so it was pointless to feed it. The door was opened so I had more pressing matter to deal with then getting blood.

Then there was the black door now. I don’t ever remember seeing a black door but then again there were many things about the darker side of the brain that I didn’t know. The right side of the brain wasn’t under my control and so I didn’t really care about what happened over there. It wasn’t until after six years ago when the right side was tainted by the darkness of the red door did I clean house. Clean house. I almost laughed out when I thought that. I had no idea what I was doing. Killing Ian’s and other monsters. I wondered at times if I did more harm than good.

Every Ian that was made had their own reason for being. Every Ian that was in the mind came to be by his own trials. I chewed on my bottom lip as I thought. It was something that I hadn’t done in years and I was losing control. Just like last time it was starting all over again. The fucking right side of the brain was tainted and it was only a matter of time before it tainted my side as well. Before it came over to the left side of the brain with its darkness. And the longer the door stayed opened the faster the darkness would spread. I needed to shut the door again but shutting the red door wasn’t as easy as just closing it.

“I need to get out of here.” I said standing up and Malikai stood up with me following me out and down the street. I shoved my hands in my pocket and found that I was weapons free for the first time in like….forever. I felt naked without some kind of weapon on me. I was tempted to go back home and grab one of my toys. But I wasn’t welcome home at the moment. They all were kissing father wounds as he was the victim here.

“Where are we going?” Malikai said and I paused in my steps and looked back at him.

            “We?” I questioned.

“Come on you can’t call me out the house, ask me to bring a year book, make me point of your girlfriend and her sister, and then leave me. You’re thinking about something. You’re about to do something and I want in. I want to have fun too.”

“Maya who I thought was Mischa attacked me four days ago. She stabbed me in the side and drugged me and did who knows what else to me while I was passed out for the last few days. I woke up in my house and had no idea how I had gotten there so yeah I think I’m going to do this one solo.”
