A/N: OMG!!! Okay, sorry for that outburst. I think I can leave it here (the story) but I don't actually like the ending, so I won't. The end is nigh, though. I might update less because I'm working on By the Side of the Road, but I'll aim to do it at least once each day.

Quote: Not yet corpses, still we rot, oblivious to our decay (Dirt and Roses, Rise Against)

'Loki is mine, child,' the angry blonde says to her, 'Stay away.'

'I'm sorry, do I know you?' Savannah replies.

'You should be sorry, and you will be sorry, if you continue to fawn over my lover. And you shall wish you had never met me.'

'Are you Sigyn?'

'I am. Are you a lying, deceiving, self dellusioned little whore?'

'No,' Savannah says, and then smiles smugly, 'But there's a mirror just over there.'

Sigyn raises an arm to slap her, and in the split-second it takes for her to realise angering goddesses hasn't worked out so well in the past, a hand with the advantage of god-like strength makes contact with her face. The hand is lifted again, and then her saviour is in front of her, bristling and angry. Scratch that, he's furious, in epic proportions.

'Hello, Sigyn,' he says, and although his voice is as calm as ever, Savannah can see that every muscle in his back is tensed.

'Loki,' she purrs, 'I missed you.'

He tilts his head to the side, and regards her coldly.

'Did you now?'

'I did. Maybe we can ... make up for lost time?'

'I'm sorry, I'm busy now,' he says, sweeping Savannah up into his arms, and kissing her deeply before breaking off, and turning to Sigyn, 'Maybe later.'

The look of pure outrage on Sigyn's face makes Savannah nigh hysterical, but Loki doesn't seem to think it a laughing matter.

'Goodbye, Sigyn.'

'You can do so much better, Loki,' she hisses.

'I can?'

'Yes. Leave that whorish mortal scum alone, and come back to me.'

'I'm afraid I can't.'

'Why not?' she snaps.

'Because,' he says, as if he's speaking to a small child, 'I happen to be in love with this whorish mortal scum.'

'What?' she splutters.

'I hope to avoid you later, whorish Aesir scum.'

And with that, Loki teleports them both to their shared bedroom. But not before Savannah hears Sigyn's shriek of anger.

'Loki?'

'Yes?'

'Why do you love me?'

And yes, it was a strange question, but it was one that was kind of relevant.

At least, to her, it was.

'I mean,' she continued, 'I have issues. Like, self-harm kind of things. I stole, I've killed people, and I'm supposed to be your enemy. I'm imperfect.'

'No!' he says vehemently, and then, in a much softer tone says, 'You're not imperfect. All of you, every little quirk, from the way you laugh, to the way you're convinced that Teletubbies are secretly members of a knife party club, all of that, it makes you so perfect. It was your smile that kept me going, you know. The thought that I'd see you again. I love you, so much. And there's nothing you can do, or say, to make me change my mind. Don't tell yourself that you're worthless, when you're worth everything and more to me.'

Loki reaches out, and cups her face in his hands, one thumb carefully brushing away a traitorous tear.

'Oh, Loki,' she says, 'Thank you.'

'No,' he says, disagreeing with her once more, 'Thank you. You changed me, in more ways than I thought possible. In a dark, dull, damp and dismal world, you were- are my burning flame, who chases away the demons. I am a better man, and you are why, Savannah.'

'But, I-'

'Am utterly perfect, beautiful and lovely? I know,' he grins, 'You trusted me, when everyone else had given up on me. And, yes, so many bad things have happened to you, and there's no point in pretending they haven't. But, I want to be the one who makes them insignificant. The one who makes every day a smile, just to see your smile. You shine, so brightly, and your dazzling brilliance makes my eyes ache with longing.'

'Wow, I-'

'So, Savannah Winters, love of my life, light to my darkness, will you do me a favour?'

'What?'

'Marry me.'
