Chapter 6

I was practically skipping all the way to the orphanage. Finally my revenge for Mandy has come. And the best part she's too stupid to notice if it was all a set up.

"Aislinn where have you been?" boomed a voice as soon as I stepped inside.

I looked to where the voice came from. It came from the one and only Sharron. Oh joy.....

"Sorry I stayed at the library to finish up a report." I lied.

She shook her head and crossed her arms, "Seriously Aislinn some couples won't like a child who comes home late at night. They don't know where you are and will get all worried. That's not really what you want is it?"

I looked down and bit my lower lip. She's right. Parents wants good girls. Not a child who's like me. "You're completely right. I'm sorry I'll to be home earlier."

"That's more like it. Next Saturday we have a lot of parents looking forward to seeing you children so please be here."

I nodded and left.

"Ashy?"

I looked behind me to see Cassie. Instantly I smiled. Seeing Cassie always made me feel better. It's something about her that makes me happy. Probably because I cared for her since she was 3 months old.

"Hey Cassie."

"Ashy sad?"

That was another thing. I'm always wondering how she can tell when I'm happy, or sad, or mad. It's weird. But I love it. One more thing that makes her different from all the other toddlers.

"No just tired." I lied.

She pointed her small index finger at me, "Wiar."

I looked at her then smiled, "Can I get away with anything from you?"

"Nu -uh." She shook her head.

I picked her up and twirled her around. "How about we go to the park."

"Its wate." She said looking around.

I put a finger to my mouth indicating we be quiet. She did the exact same. I smiled knowing that she knows the plan. Quickly but quietly we run to my room. I swear I need to convince Sharron that we should share a room.

I opened the door and let her down easily. Once she was down she looked up at me and gave me a thumbs up. Then it was my turn to go throw the window. I'm so used to crawling through this window that I went through it with ease. But this window is getting smaller.

"Okay Cassie lets go." I whispered.

She looked at me and nodded her head. "Wet's go."

I picked her up and put her on my back. I ran through the bush and to the park. We got to the park but only played for 30 minutes before Cassie fell asleep. That indicated it was time to go.

"Ugh Cassie you've gotten heavier." I mumbled.

I started walking before I heard people talking.

"Come on I think it's a good plan." Said a voice.

"Aren't we suppose to be looking for the princess?" Another voice.

"I still think what you're doing will come back to get you." Yet another voice.

3 voices! And they all sound so familiar. I went to a near by tree to get a closer look at them. I couldn't believe my eyes. No, I wouldn't believe my eyes. There stood the 3 boys I've known for only so little.

I first noticed David. He had little black horns on him. And bat wings! Then there was Zack. He looked normal but way more paler and there was black shadows all around him. He looked even scarier than David did. He gave me the chills. Then there was Michael. He looked the same.

My eyes practically popped out of my eyes. What the hell? Who are these people? What are these people?

Trying not to cause noise I walked- hell I ran back to the orphanage. I got in through the window really fast. Luckily Cassie didn't wake up. I still don't know I got in. I just laid Cassie on the bed next to me. I didn't want to make any commotion in the toddlers room.

I just laid there wondering if I was dreaming or not. I mean they're practically the nicest guys in the world. But David looked like a demon and Zack looked possessed. What about Michael? Is he one of them? Or is he normal? Or should I say human?

These questions kept wondering through my head. This caused me a huge lack of sleep.
