Chapter 7 - The Explosion

Hailee's POV

I'm tying up my boot's lace before opening the door and getting in my car. I press the start button heading to where my appointment with a boy, wait i mean man tonight. And that man is my patient, also a man that appear in my dreams and my dreams always comes to a reality. I don't know about it but yeah it's really weird, dream's rarely become a reality but that law doesn't apply to me. Eventhough i'm scared that one day i might have a nightmare, i don't give a damn about it. All i care is i'm only having a nice dream till now.

I arrive in front of S.T.A.R. Labs and i parked my car next to a tree. It's 7 A.M. right now. I'm wearing a white shirt with tosca cardigans, long light blue jeans, brown brogue and a light brown sling bag. I didn't do anything to my face or hair because i'm in hurry just now. Today i got about seven patients for surgery and i got no time for rest. Fortunately i managed to save all of their life and now here i am, brushing my hair with my comb. Looking at my car's mirror.

"Sci-fi thing huh? You better not disappoint me Patient Allen." i talk looking to the mirror and giving a final brush with my hand. My hair looks better now. I walk through a small alley filled with crowd and saw a tall green eyed boy, oops i mean man.

He look up to the sky. Tapping the floor with his right feet and he took a deep breath. He wears clothes with his style. A shirt, tie, vest, coat, jeans and a pair of running shoes. He turn to the left and finally notice that i'm here already.

"Hey." he talks shakily. Yeah, he's nervous and of course i am too.

"Yeah, hey."

"You look beautiful." he smile, showing his perfect smile.

"Yes you too." he furrowed his eyebrows. "I mean you look handsome."

"Thanks."

"Oh yeah. The girl that you mention before, Iris. Is she coming?" i just speak what's in my mind right now to break the awkwardness.

"Nah, i pissed her off. We supposed to meet 30 minutes ago and as usual i'm late." he scratch his neck and look down. He's so cute when he's like this.

"It's ok. You have me and i can accompany you to watch the sci-fi thing tonight. Right?" I cling my arm into his. He smiles and nod quickly. We walk through the stairs and stop in front of people. There's a dark haired man on the stage. I know him, of course. He's popular, Dr. Wells. Barry's idol, but you can say every physics lover's idol.

Dr. Wells give some speech to people with a bright smile. When he finish his speech he turn on something in the stage and everybody clap. I don't know what i mean but Barry's clapping his hand so i just follow him, clapping. Something vibrate in my pants and i know it's my phone.

"Hello?"

"Yes, this is Dr. Hailee. What's wrong?"

"Okay, i'll get there as fast as i can." my face turn into worried look. It's not a call from my family but it's from the hospital. Someone need a surgery right now.

"Something wrong?"

"Oh, Barry. Actually, yes. I got a call from the hospital-"

"It's ok, let's get there together." he cut me and nod his head.

"No, you stay here. I don't want you to miss this once in a lifetime thing because of my job. Okay?" i push him back and good thing he didn't fight back.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes i am. I'll call you later and i'll make sure no kind of runaway in our date next time." i run as fast as i could after seeing him nodding his head. Uugh! Why did it have to happen in a time like this. This is the first time i regret being a doctor, it's hard to live a normal life. I spend more time with dead people than with my family now.

I step the gas pedal and drive quickly to the hospital.

Barry's POV

"Guess now it's me. All alone here." i exhale hardly and left the event. It doesn't mean anything if i can't show this to someone.

I walk my way to C.C.P.D. to do another research about the latest crime scene and arrive there about 15 minutes from S.T.A.R. Labs.

Driipp... Driipp...

It's raining heavily. The sound of the rain dominate the whole room. And not long after that a lightning strike down, wow a storm tonight and i'm stuck in C.C.P.D. Guess i'll have to spend the night here. I wear my eyeglass and pull up my work board. Inside it was my tragedy happen whem i'm 11. I stare each one of them with a blank stare.

'I'll get you out, dad.' i said it in my mind and pull down the work board. I then pick some paper and look to the left.

Shit! It's leaking because of the rain. I put my paper and pull a chain to see what happen on there.

What's this?

The water's floating. It's like there's no gravitation here. I look up to the right and see the same thing. I look throught the window and see an explosion discharge. Not long after i look up to the roof a white light makes me go into darkness.

What just happen?
