We walked in to the little cake shop and a man dressed in a black suit with a black tie closed and locked the door behind us as well as turning the open sign on the door to closed. I looked around curiously and discovered Eva and a posh looking lady sitting at a table with a few cake samples sitting in front of them as well as a folder. Eva smiled when she saw Logan and me holding hands, sort of like a triumphant grin. I guess Logan had been telling his mommy that we were on the same page.
“Glad to see you two getting along today.” Eva commented as we sat down at the table. The aroma of cake made its way to my nostrils and I grinned.
So we spent the next two hours sitting at this table tasting cake, sipping on fine wine and flipping through the cake book to decide on what type of cake and design we were going to have. Ultimately we were just there to convince Laura (the cake lady) that Eva wasn’t crazy and she was planning a wedding for us. We didn’t really have any saying on the outcome at all but I’m pretty sure it was clear after the forth piece of cake that Logan and I really didn’t care. So Eva made the decision and while she booked the cake and did her thing Logan and I went outside. “I’ll be glad when this is over.” Logan groaned as he sat on a fence made up of big rocks and stones.
“Planning not your thing?” I smirked.
“Hardly.” He answered flatly. “If you haven’t already noticed the woman is certifiably insane, she wants grandchildren this time next year.” He said and my eyes went wide. Was he serious? I can’t even get along with the guy let alone make babies with him! Not gonna happen! “Relax I’m still trying to find a way to get out of this mess.” He said when he saw my silent panic.
“You better, Logan! Because there is no way in hell I’m making babies with you!” I hissed. It came out a little harsh and the look on his face was sort of hurt. I really don’t understand how Logan’s brain works, he hates me, he saves me from his woman bashing best friend, he asks me on a date, he goes back to hating me and now he’s hurt because of one little thing I said! PMS!
“Right then dears would you like to go get a coffee or do you have things to do?” Eva appeared in front of the store and I jumped. Logan smirked.
“Uh mom I’ve got stuff to do. We’ll do coffee another time.” Logan replied.
“Of course.” She smiled lovingly at her son and gave me a small smile also. “I’ll see you another day.” She said walked off down the street to another shop.
We got back in the car and drove silently back to the apartment. I sighed heavily as we walked in to the lobby and waited for the lift. “What’s wrong?” Logan tilted his head to the side looking at my sad face. I was thinking about being lonely again. Once we got up to the apartment Logan would go back to his ways and I would go back to moping in my bedroom.
“Nothing.” I sighed again.
“Violet I’m guy, when you say nothing is wrong I know something isn’t right. What’s the matter?” he pressed.
“I just don’t wanna be alone again. You’ll go back to doing what ever it is you do and then I’ll go back to not doing anything. I don’t want my life to be like this for the rest of my life.” I huffed as we stepped in to the lift. Logan pressed the button for the tenth floor and we went back to being silent.
So once again I poured my heart out and he went silent and started ignoring me again. How am I supposed to cope with this?! We finally got to the tenth floor and I was first out the door. “Violet wait!” Logan called after me and tried to grab my hand. My first instinct was to yank my hand out of his grip which is exactly what I did.
Except when I pulled my hand out of his grip I pulled up and accidentally punched him in the face. And when I say accidentally I mean accidentally my hand was throbbing. “Oh my God! Logan are you alright?” I asked nervously as he turned away from me holding his face. He didn’t answer me at first. “Logan?” I asked again.
“I’m fine, guess I deserved that…” he mumbled.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean -.” He cut me off mid sentence.
“Shut up Violet I said it was fine!” Logan hissed rudely as he continued to walk to the door. I frowned as I followed him. Poor dude was in the wars he got slapped this morning by Millie and now punched in the face by me accidentally.
I walked in to the apartment with my head hung low, I felt bad and Logan yelling at me made me feel even worse. I sighed as I watched him walk in to his room and slam the door shut.
I sat on the couch and pulled my legs up to my chin. It was kind of silly how bad I felt, I would have gladly punched him if he had been acting like an ass but he was trying to talk to me. A few minutes passed and Logan stomped out of his room again and over to the kitchen and I finally got a look at his face. I had busted his nose, it was bleeding and it looked horrible. This made me feel even worse. I got off the couch and walked in to the kitchen; Logan was digging through the freezer trying to find something cold. I pushed him out of the way. “Let me do it.” I said roughly. Being rude seems the only way I can get through to him.
He did as I told and leaned against the counter and waited for me as I pulled out the handy pack of frozen peas. “Bathroom.” I ordered and walked off to my bathroom expecting him to follow me. I got in to the bathroom and turned around and Logan was standing at my bedroom door awkwardly. So I took the first aid kit and wet towel over to him to so could clean him up. I slowly cleaned him up and wiped all the blood away. “I’m sorry.” I whispered.
I didn’t realize how close we were standing until he leaned in closing the gap and pressed his lips against mine.
