Chapter 12

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Come on, idiot.
I opened my mouth once again to answer but the horn on the ferry interrupted me. I turned my gaze from Everett to the ferry. It was coming closer and closer, making small waves in the bay. Coming onto the last step, and washing back into the bay.
I heard Everett laugh. “You can answer me later. Come on, we‘ll go on it.” He held his hand in front of me to take.
Swallowing hard, I nodded my head. “Okay.”
Intertwining our fingers, he pulled me up the last step, and walked down the slope towards the waiting line, which was somewhat long. Hopefully we’ll get to go on this one and not have to wait for the next one.
After what felt like forever, I guess I was too anxious to get on, we were finally getting ready to step on after Everett paid for our tickets. “Careful, Michelle.”
“Well, give me your hand, remember I‘m wearing heels?” I held my hand out for him to take.
“And whose idea was that?” He cocked an eyebrow.
“Shut up.” I sighed as he pulled me up.
“Now where do you want to sit?” he looked toward the inside of the lobby part of the ferry, which was nice and air-conditioned.
“On the top deck.” I let out excitedly.
Chuckling he nodded. “Lead the way.”
“Sure.”
“I‘ll meet you up there, I‘m going to go get something from inside real quick.”
“Okay?” I laughed.
What could he possibly be getting from there? I doubt there was a souvenir shop.
Ignoring whatever he was doing, I made my way to the stair leading to the upper deck. Praying silently that I didn‘t fall, I made me way up the stairway slowly and carefully. Once on the top, I noticed you could either sit or stand. I chose a bench facing the bay under a shaded area.
Suddenly an chocolate cover sundae came into my view. “We didn‘t get to finish ours back at the ice cream shop, so..” he trailed off.
I snorted, thinking of how I just walked out on him. “It looks delicious. Thanks.”
He took a seat next to me. “You know, you don‘t have to answer me, Michelle, right?”
“No.” I shook my head. “I do, but I‘m not sure how to answer it.” I paused to scoop some ice cream in my mouth. “I just want you to know that, any other girl would have probably said, ‘screw you‘ for everything you‘ve done to me, and just left.” I looked to him to see if he would agree.
“You‘re right.” One of the corners of his mouth lifted up. “But you‘re not just any other girl, are you?”
“Definitely not.” I laughed loudly. “Because I‘m still here.”
He licked his lips to get some strawberry syrup off. “You‘re right you know. I don‘t know how you‘re still around me, at all.” he trailed off looking in the distance at a buoy bouncing up and down.
I didn‘t know how to answer him. “I‘m still around because..” I paused. “no one makes me feel the way you do.” I whispered truthfully.
The engine of the boat roared to life, the horn sounding letting everyone know we were taking off. The boat jerked forward slightly, and then we were off.
“Do you mean that?” he sort of whispered back.
“I wouldn‘t say it if it wasn‘t true.” I stated smiling softly.
He finally acknowledged something from earlier. “It‘s going to take some time isn‘t it?”
I scooped up a huge scoop of chocolate syrup. “What is?”
“For you to trust me again?”
I shook my head. “No, not really. I mean, as long as I don‘t have to worry about any other girl popping out of no where, or you leaving out of no where again..” I waited to see his reaction.
“No.” he bent his head down shaking it. “No more girls, or leaving. I promise.”
“Then.” I held on to the ‘n’. “We should be good, right?”
“Right. So, I‘m considering this our official first date.” He lazily wrapped his arms around my shoulders.
“Really?” I looked at him shocked. “This is a date?”
“A romantic boat ride.” he gestured around us. “And such a beautiful scenery. I would think so.”
“Not fair!” I shook off his shoulder. “You didn‘t even pick the ferry!”
“I kind of did.” he pursed his lips.
“Whatever, liar.” Laughing I stood up, and leaned over the rail.
I looked down to the murky ocean bay water, noticing a jellyfish here and there. How does it feel to be stung by one? A small chill went through my body. One of the reasons I hated going to the beach. Jellyfish.
“Okay, fine.” standing next to me, he nudged my shoulder with his. “I know exactly where I want to take you after this.” he smirked.
“Really?” I shoveled more ice cream into my mouth.
“Yep.”
I nudged his shoulder back. “Tell me.”
“Of course not.” he laughed.
“Why not?” I jutted my bottom lip out.
“Oh no.” he turned away. “That face won‘t work.”
“Okay.” pursing my lips I started thinking. “Can I have a hint?”
“Aren‘t you suppose to be enjoying the view?” he arched an eyebrow.
“Sure, change the subject.” I looked towards the left to see we had reached the aquarium. “Can we go there again?”
I loved aquariums. They were just so fascinating.
“Oh sure, so you can walk off on your own again, and give me a heart attack?” he shook his head.
“Oh. You remember that?” I laughed sheepishly rubbing the back of my neck.
“So very clearly.”
I sighed. Well, there went the aquarium idea. Or maybe not. I grabbed his upper arm, and silently gasped, his arms were huge. Shoving that thought away, I tried again. “We can take, Natalie, tomorrow?” I suggested.
“Are you using, Natalie, as an excuse for me to take you to the aquarium?” he laughed through his nose.
“Well, I do really want to take her..” I sighed once again letting go of his arm. I honestly did, I’m pretty sure she would have an amazing time, looking at everything the aquarium had to offer.
“I‘ll think about it.” he smirked. “I‘ll definitely take, Natalie, but you, I‘m not too sure about. Maybe I‘ll leave you at home?”
I shrugged. “Fine. I‘ll just be at the beach in my skimpy bikini that day. No big deal.” I lied. One, I didn’t want to spend the day at the beach by myself. Two, I didn’t own a ‘skimpy’ bikini, just no, and gross.
“You‘re such a bad liar.” he whispered in my ear.
“I know.” I agreed leaning into him.
“No a bad mental image though. Mhmm. I think you just gave me an idea.” I felt him smile into my neck.
“No way am I wearing something like that. I would have to be dead, or something.” I shook my head. Just, no.
“Always teasing me, huh?” He joked. Wrapped his arm around my shoulder again, I felt so comfy just being in his arms. Kissing my temple he whispered. “I love you.”
Jokingly I responded with. “Me too.”
I felt his shoulder shake from laughter. “Okay, I can feel the love you have for me radiating off your body.”
The ferry halted, signaling the trip was over, ‘causing me to stumble slightly forward.
Everett grabbed one of my hips. “Careful, clumsy.”
“Shut up.” I was probably one of the most clumsiest girls. I did have my coordinated days though.
He gasped slightly. “Are you actually agreeing with me that you are clumsy?”
“Just..” I stared at him. His facial expression was just great. His eyes wide, his mouth open slightly, one of his hands clutching his shirt. “Just stop.“ I tried my hardest not to laugh.
“How many times do I have to say no?”
“A hundred more.”
'
“Why are we going to Wal-Mart again?” I questioned.
“We need to get some things.” he then jutted his chin at my heels. “And you need to buy sandals.”
“Don’t think I do them justice?” I folded my arms across my chest.
“No, you do.” he nodded, his eyes roaming up and down my legs.
“Stop staring.” I felt a blush creep up my neck.
He chuckled slightly. “I just don‘t want you blaming me when you trip on the pier and fall into the ocean. That‘s all.”
“I would not trip!” I assured him.
“Would too.”
“No.” I sighed quietly.
“Michelle.” he paused. “This is you we‘re talking about.”
Sighing in defeat, he was right. “Be quiet.”
“You and your sad face.” he grabbed my chin, moving it side to side. “You make me want to actually take back what I said when you do that.” he planted a small kiss on my nose. “Let‘s go.”
He stepped out of the car. “Wait!” I called after him. “Actually?” I climbed out of my side.
He nodded, smirking. “Actually.”
I quickened my pace trying to keep up with him. “Keep up with the smirking.” I warned pursing my lips.
“Or what?” he grabbed one of my hands, looked both ways before leading me across the crosswalk.
Nothing, I answered myself. I changed the subject. “What exactly are we getting?”
He dropped my hand as soon as we walked through the entrance. My hand felt completely cold. Empty, somewhat. I just wanted to reach out and take back his hand, and squeeze it tightly so he wouldn’t let go. But, of course, this wasn’t the time to be attached at the hip.
“Fishing stuff.” He looked for the sporting goods section.
“Like, fishing pools? And everything?”
“Yep.” he popped his ‘p’.
“Well, I‘ll go find some sandals, I‘ll meet you in the sporting good.” I was about to walk off when he grabbed my wrist.
“Do you have you phone?”
“Mhmm.” I nodded.
“On loud?” he raised one of his eyebrows.
“Possibly.” I laughed sheepishly.
“Check.” he demanded.
“I‘m a big girl, Everett. ” I patted one of his cheeks softly. “I‘ll be fine.” I assured him.
“Michelle, I don‘t want you getting lost-”
“How could I possibly get lost?” I rolled my eyes. Turning my back I headed for the shoe department. “I‘ll meet you over there.” I called over my shoulder.
Hastily, I found a cute pair of brown sandals. Or did some people call them thong sandals? Whatever, the thing was I found a pair.
I located the sporting good to see Everett at the register paying.
He smiled upon seeing me. “Here she is.”
“Here I am.” I assured him.
“Do you have your license?”
“Yeah?” Do I need to show it or something?
I dug through my black hole of a purse, fishing for it blindly. Pushing and shoving my wallet, chap stick, and whatever else lived in here.
“Here.” I handed it to him.
“Two fishing licenses, also.” I look on the class case to see two huge white fishing poles.
I guess we really are going fishing. “You weren‘t lying.” I laughed.
I heard him laugh through his nose. “You thought I was lying?”
“Well, yeah.” I shrugged.
“Proved you wrong, didn‘t I?”
“Sure did.” I nodded.
“Is this just for one day, sir?” The salesman asked him.
“Uh, yeah, one day will do.”
One of the printers printed off something, and then another. I‘m guessing receipts. “Alright. I need you both to sign your passes, and you‘ll be ready to go.”
“Okay, and can you ring up her sandals here too, or do we need to go to the front for that?”
“Sure, you can pay for them here.”
I reached into my wallet, pulling out a twenty. “I got it.” I nudged Everett when I noticed him pulling out his wallet.
“Oh, right. Ms. Independent?” he smirked.
“That‘s me.” I bumped my hip into his thigh so he would get the hint to move out of the way.
“Alright, you guys are all set to go.” The associate handed me my receipt, he looked me in the eyes, his widened a fraction.
I cocked my head to one side. Did I have something on my face? “Thanks.” I held my hand out for my change.
“Are those you real eyes?” I could hear the curiosity in his voice as he leaned in a little closer to take a better look.
“Yeah.” I smiled warmly at him. “Are they weird looking or what?” I was quite fond of my blue eyes sometimes.
“No, not weird, just..” he trailed off looking for the right word. “very different.” he gave me a small smile.
I started. “Well-”
“Alright, thank you!” Everett interrupted me loudly, grabbed my free hand, and with the other grabbed our fishing poles, my sandals, and whatever else was in the bag he bought.
“Bye!” I called over my shoulder to the associate as he dragged me down the aisle, before we turned the corner I saw him laughing waving back.
I could feel Everett laughing. “Are they weird looking or what?” he mocked me.
“Hey!” I punched his back.
“Could haven‘t made it more obvious?” he snorted.
“Obvious? Wait what? Make what obvious?” Was he jealous?
“Hey!” someone called after us. We turned to see the same associate. “You forgot your licenses.”
“Way to go.” I whispered to Everett’s back.
“Thanks.” I smiled as he handed me mine.
“No problem.” He grinned, and turned back the way he came.
That was weird. I opened mine up to see we had one day of fishing, but then I saw a piece of paper with something written on it. A number and a name.
“Really?” Everett was peering over my shoulder.
“It‘s not like I was going to call him.” I rolled my eyes. This never happened to me before, so it was a cute gesture, that might have worked back then, but I’m definitely not the same girl.
“You better not.” Everett whispered into my ear, a shiver was sent down my back.
“Could you get anymore jealous?” I laughed.
“I‘m pretty sure it‘s possible, but are you willing to test that?” He question.
I moved away from him. “Perhaps. Maybe one day. But you’re honestly super close to me, ever heard of personal space?”
“Nope.” he kissed my cheek.
“Stop.” I tried to sound serious, but ended up laughing.
We had made it to the car, before I could punch him or anything. How lucky for him.
“Now where?” I climbed into the car chunking off my heels.
“Go get some bait.” he turned around to see if any cars were behind him.
“Bait?” I uttered.
“You didn‘t think you just threw the fishing line in the ocean with no bait, did you?”
“Well, no, but what bait do you use?”
“Shrimp.” he smiled.
“Live?” I almost shrieked.
“Live or dead. Which do you want?”
“Dead.” I answered all too quickly.
He chuckled. “Dead it is.”
'
We made it to this huge pier, I had forgotten the name of it once we had parked, but it literally looked like it went a mile out in to the ocean. I’m probably exaggerating by a lot, but that’s not the point. It was huge.
“Are you sure it‘s safe?” I asked. The pier was wooden, but huge cement pillars held it up. It looked safe enough.
“Would I take you anywhere if it wasn‘t safe?” he leaned against his car bumper retying his Nike shoe laces.
“No.” I murmured chewing on my thumb. I took his spot as he moved to reassembled the fishing rods he had packed in the trunk. He grabbed two parts of one rod and stuck them back together, pushing down hard to make sure they stayed in place, and doing the same with the other.
“Okay, ready now?”
“No.” I groaned.
“Are you scared?” he gave me a knowing smile. “Come on.” he held his hand out for me to take, everything else in his other hand.
“Here, I can carry my own.” I reached for my red rod I had called dibs on in the car, and placing my other free hand in the one he had outstretched for me.
We walked up the ramp, and finally made it to the actually part of the pier that was above the ocean. The breeze felt amazing, but I probably should have put my hair up so the wind didn’t blow my hair to hell, but it’s too late for that. ”Okay.” I let go of his hand so he wouldn’t notice how sweaty they became all of a sudden.
“Alright.” he walked ahead of me, and turned around smirking. “Are you coming or not?”
I swallowed hard. “Give me a second.”
Taking one step, I felt my stomach drop, but the pier was completely solid. Thank the lord.
“Not so bad, huh?”
It sounded like he was farther away.
“Don‘t leave me!” I cried after him.
“Better hurry then.” he turned his back, and started walking again.
I huffed. ”I‘m on my own now, I guess.” I muttered as he left me. I took this time to lean over the rail, and gazed down at the ocean. We were really high up.
Suddenly he was standing beside me. “I was kidding, Michelle, I‘m not leaving you. Come on, babe.” he intertwined our fingers.
My stomach filled with butterflies, easily. Did he just call me ‘babe’?
I shuttered. It felt so good and weird at the same time. I haven‘t had butterflies in awhile.
”Cold?” he looked down at me, looking concern, like he was going to run back to the car and grab me a jacket.
“No, no.” I shook my head.
“Then why did you shake?” He laughed slightly.
“Butterflies.” I couldn’t help but giggle quietly.
“That‘s cute.” he lifted one corner of his mouth.
At the end of the pier you could either go to the far right or far left. We chose the far left since there was already another family set up on the far right.
“Butterflies.” he confirmed, setting down our bait bag, small tackle box filled with hooks, weights, and a ton of extra fishing line, and whatever else we would need.
“Yeah.” I nodded giving him a small smile, not knowing if it was too childish. I leaned again the piers railing taking in the sight, my gaze fixed to the open ocean. It was huge. So open, vast, and blue.
“Well..” he stood in front of me putting his hands on either side of me. “I, for one, am extremely glad that I can still give you butterflies after all this time. I think it‘s so cute.” he leaned forward slightly. “You‘re so adorable.”
“I‘m not even trying to be adorable though.” I whispered back, getting a little nervous about how close he was.
“You don‘t even have to try. It comes naturally to you.” he green eyes twinkled. His gaze going from my eyes to my lips, and back up.
“Are you sure about that?” I tilted my head to the side the slightest inch.
“Extremely.” he leaned forward a little more.
“Are you sweet talking me?”
He ignored my question completely. “Babe.” There that word was again. My stomach flipped, and the butterflies were back instantly. His lips were inches from mine. “Can I kiss you?” I barely heard him say over the sound of the waves crashing.
I nodded my head slowly. “Yes.”
At first he was hesitant, still looking into my eyes seeing if it really was okay. Slowly I closed my eyes, and he ever so gently touch his lips to mine. With every passing second he pressed harder making the kiss more urgent. I didn’t want it to stop, but we had to breathe sometime.
He pulled away first, leaning his forehead against mine. “Do you know how much I‘ve missed kissing you?”
“You kissed me last night, silly.” I placed a small peck on the tip of his nose.
Shaking his head. “No, I mean, really kissing you. Not ‘making you mad‘ kiss you. Does that make sense?” he laughed.
I nodded my head, giving him my silent yes. “So, that‘s all you miss about me?” I cocked my head to one side.
“I missed everything about you.”
I wrapped my arms around his neck, I couldn’t even be sarcastic at this moment, even when I trying to be. “Me too.” I sighed into the base of his neck.
“Really?” he seemed shocked.
“Of course I did. I thought about you almost all the time.” I admitted.
“Not as much as I thought of you.” he whispered into my hair.
We stayed like this, for what seemed like forever. This is the time where I wished you could pause time. “I love you.” I whispered into his ear as I was on my tiptoes. There I finally said it, and it felt so good to get out. I trailed my lips down his jaw placing a small kiss on his cheek.
He pushed me away to get a look at my face. “Are you serious?”
I smiled at his expression. He was looking at me like I was kidding. “Dead serious.”
He chewed on his bottom lip. “Well..” trailing off, he shoved one of his hands in his pocket, fiddling with something in there.
“What?” I switched my gaze to the pocket he put his hand in.
Shifting his weight from his left leg to his right, he pulled out a velvet blue pouch. I looked into his eyes, he was so nervous it was so cute.
“Remember that necklace I had given you, and when we were in the hospital you practically threw it at me?” he chewed on the inside of his cheek.
“I didn‘t throw it at you! I would clearly remember if I threw anything at you that day.”
“Well, I kind of lost it. I don‘t know where. It kind of vanished.” he ran a shaky hand through his hair. “So, I..” he trailed off opening the blue pouch slowly. “I went to the store early this morning, while you were sleeping, and kept it in my dresser for the perfect moment, but something told me the perfect moment would be today. I mean, it‘s not like I thought I would be getting you back so fast, or you would take me back so easily, so don‘t even think that.” he paused to breathe.
“Everett.” I laughed, cupping one of his cheeks with my hand.
He laughed slightly. “I bought you this. I thought it was sort of perfect in a way.” He tilted the blue pouch, and it finally fell into the palm of his hands. A ring.
It looked like some sort of heart with a crown on top, but I couldn’t get a good view.
He picked it up, and held it in-between us. The features of the ring were two hands clasping a heart, and a crown placed directly on top of the heart. “It‘s called a Claddagh ring.” he began. “It represents love, loyalty, and friendship. Think of it sort of like a promise ring.” he peeked up at me to see my reaction.
“I-I” I stuttered, it was so simply, yet perfect. I loved it.
“If you don‘t like it-”
“No, no!” I cut him off.
“No, you don‘t like it?” his face fell immediately.
“No!” I laughed. “I love it. It‘s perfect.”
He smiled so big, I literally thought his cheeks we‘re going to burst, but suddenly that smile vanished. He sort of looked like he was blushing. “I guess, what I want to ask you, Michelle, is..” he chewed on his bottom lip, and my heart melted slowly, I loved it when he did that. “Will you be willing to give me a second chance? Will you be willing to be my girlfriend again, and hopefully one day, be way more?”
I couldn‘t help but grin, I would be so stupid if I said no. “Of course!” I beamed.
A bright smile came onto his face once again. “The point of the heart has to face towards the wrist, on the right hand, which means you‘re taken.”
He gently picked up my right hand. “It‘s so perfect, I can‘t get over it.” I whispered more to myself.
“Do you mind?” He was inches away from putting the ring on my middle finger on my right hand.
I shook my head. “No.”
He slid it on. Perfect fit.
Staring down at it, I started getting tears in my eyes. I would be the one to cry at a promise ring. Way to go, Michelle.
”Hey, hey, babe, why are you crying?” He held my face. A smile graced his lips.
“It‘s just..” I trailed off trying to force the tears to stop. “I love you so much. You just make me so happy. I mean, I know it‘s not an engagement ring or anything.” I trailed off stopping, noticing I was starting to babble along like Everett had did earlier.
He laughed through his nose. “You‘re so adorable. I love you too, beautiful.” he dipped down to peck my lips.
I gripped the back of his neck to keep him from pulling away. “No.” I whispered against his lips when he broke my grasp.
“You‘re in such a loving mood.” he smirked.
“I just want kisses.” I pouted slightly. “So, we’re going to start fishing now, or what?”
“Yeah, we‘re all set, babe.” he stepped back looking over our pools. “Grab a shrimp, and I‘ll show you how to put it on the hook.”
“Ew.” I grimaced. I opened the plastic bag they had given us to see, literally hundreds of dead shrimp. I reached in grabbing one, but being careful not to grab the tail, since I found out the hard way it was incredibly pointy.
“Okay.” he handed me my fishing hook he was holding. “Now, just hook the shrimp on, and you‘re ready to cast.”
I pierced the shrimp from the tail first, moving up it‘s curved body careful not to prick myself, and half way through the body I shoved the hook out midway. “How‘s that?”
“Perfect. Now hold this button.” he pointed to the top of the reel. “And when you‘re ready just let it go when you cast, and the line should go without a problem.” he nodded, busying himself with his rod, and soon enough his line with flying.
I did as he said, and my line went flying. I heard a plop, and began reeling it back in slowly hopefully our lines won‘t get tangled. Not even ten seconds later, I felt a tug on the line, not sure if it was the wave or not. I started reeling in a little faster, and the tug came harder. “Woah.” Soon after that last tug, I pulled up on my rod, and felt something jerk, as if trying to get away. “I guess I get the first fish.” My line was just over the rail, I peered over, pulled up my line above water, and soon enough a fish was on the end of it.
I reeled it all the way up. “Are you serious?” I heard Everett laughing. “First try, and you already have one?”
“Lucky me.” I smiled, fishing wasn’t so bad. It was so of fun.
He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a wash cloth. ”You want to do it?”
I guess he meant get the fish off the hook. “Sure.” I shrugged, it couldn’t be that hard, could it?
Handing me the wash cloth, he leaned against the railing. “Alright.”
I stared the at the fish, the fish had already been hooked before. The was a huge hole where my hook was, it should be easy. I pulled my hook out, and held the fish in towel. I stared at it and smiled, feeling accomplished. At least I won‘t have to go home knowing I didn‘t catch at least one. I heard the sound of a shutter. “Did you just take a picture?”
“Yep, and I‘m sending it to your mom.” he laughed. “Just imagine what she would say.”
“Something along the lines of, I‘m becoming outdoorsy again.” I bit my lip thinking. I leaned over the rail, and tossed my fish back in. “Later, buddy.”
I felt Everett wrap his arms around me. “Good job, baby, I actually thought I was going to have to teach you and everything.”
“It‘s not rocket science.” I laughed.
“Not at all.” I felt him smile into my neck. His phone began to ring cutting off whatever else he was going to say. “Hey.” he paused. “Yeah, we‘re fishing actually.” yet another pause. “Dinner? Where?” he waited for the answer. “Hong Kong Buffet? Yeah, I know where it is, sounds delicious.”
I turned to the right to see the family that was fishing was long gone. I turned more so that I was facing Everett. Leaning back, I placed my elbows on the wooden rail.
While he was busy, I took this time taking in his facial features. His features were still chiseled. His eyes still a deep green, only changing lighter when the sun shone on them. All in all, his face was flawless. No wrinkles, or freckles, or even blemishes.
Suddenly he pecked my nose, taking notice that I was looking at him. “Alright, Mom.” I wrapped my arms around his shoulders, burying my face in the base of his neck.
He chuckled. “Dada?” I heard Natalie’s voice on the other side.
“Hey, princess. I miss you.” he smiled down at me.
“Dada, home?”
“Yeah, we‘re coming home soon, I promise.”
“Love you!” she yelled as the phone was taken off speaker phone. She was learning so much so fast. She’s growing up so fast, period.
“I love you more, princess.” he laughed. “Yeah, mom, we‘ll come home in awhile, we’re still going to fish for a few minutes. See you soon.”
“Let‘s get to fishing then!” I said as soon as he hung up the phone.
But he didn‘t take his arms from my waist. “Do you want to fish, or go home?”
“Well,” I chewed on my bottom lip. “You did pay for all this.” I gestured around us.
“We could always come back another day.” he rolled his eyes.
“But..” I trailed off deciding.
“I know, you know, we both miss Natalie.”
I nodded my head. “Then..” I looked at our stuff.
“Let‘s go see our baby girl.” he kissed the tip of my nose for the tenth time. Probably another exaggeration.
I nodded smiling. “Let‘s go.”
I loved the way that sounded.
‘Our baby girl.’
