the twilight of us
we met at the dawn of it all,
you were the light and
I was night;
and soon our meeting
became a muse for
those who love on paper.
we fell at noon,
in a fraction of a second.
you hit me with your hands,
your lips, your cheeks, your
eyes, your nose, your hair.
and soon we kissed,
we both knew we were damned.
we loved at sunset,
hitting the strings of the
violin as if we were the
last song to ever be played.
we sung to each other
and soon, our melody
was the only one heard.
we laughed at twilight,
you tapped your fingers
on my hips and i was a
mess of make up and
left-over love. you
told me that you could
count the stars on my skin;
and soon, you did.
we broke at dusk,
once your hands were too
cold and i needed to be warm,
your eyes didn't keep me safe,
and your lips couldn't be bought.
and soon, we didn't see magic
in the sky.
