By the time you forced yourself to go to the ball, everyone there was already waiting on their toes. They all seemed to have a different expression on their face than earlier. They seemed calmer now... Well, except for the few who were upset that you were late. Like Baby 5 and the big bird himself. He glared at you behind those sunglasses and just hummed to himself.
You didn't want to see him. Hell, you didn't want to be near him. That just wasn't what you wanted at all. Hell, you wanted so much that it should have been considered as selfish. You turned away from his Gaze to look around the room. It was silent in that sort of uncomfortable way... "Let's get this party started, shall we!~" You finally heard Diamante say just as music began to flood the room. Finally, now you didn't have to listen to your own thoughts.
Everyone started to pair off into their respected groups. The Eaters, dancers, singers, talkers, and resters. You know, the ones who just sat there and watched everything go down. That was where you found Bellamy, waiting for you as if it was expected. "You should be with Doflamingo." He said with his eyes traveling along your form.
"I don't want to see him right now..."
"Is it because of Liza?" He asked that as if it were expected of me to answer.
"How'd you know?"
"You know... Maybe you should start understanding that things aren't what they always seem. For instance... When you hear someone who's job is helping men get questions out that they can't manage alone with your boyfriend. Or how about the fact that, other than you, the only people allowed in that office is a business partner of his." The way he talked was almost like he just knew about the whole situation.
Did that mean... You were wrong about Doffy? True, you hadn't heard the other side of that conversation. In fact all you heard at all was mostly Liza talking... What was the other side of the conversation actually like? "What... What are you trying to say...?"
"I'm trying to say... Have more faith in Waka-Sama... If he intended to keep you, than he meant it all the way..." And with that the man stood up and walked away. You noticed everyone else was just leaving you to stay at the spot alone.. All up until a shadow castes over you. When you looked up you saw the tall blonde (who was now sporting a black and pink tuxedo) standing in front of you.
"I didn't sleep with Liza." Was the first thing he said before he crouched down so your eyes could meet. "I love you too much... So much that I was scared that... What I wanted to say wouldn't come out right. It never does in most cases for me. So, I had to hire Liza to ensure that this would go smoothly... But in the end I only upset you. And I'm sorry for that... But, I need to ask you... Do you still love me?"
His question was something you didn't expect, but despite how it seemed, you could tell that he meant every word he said. After all, this man was easy to read. (Not really.) His expression was serious. There was no smile or even crack of a smirk. He was sincere in every way. "I.... I do.." You finally said before your eyes shifted elsewhere. "But if you weren't sleeping with her than... What were the two of you doing?"
"I needed her help..."
"With what...?"
"This..." The man moved from his crouched position onto one knee in front of you. His hand reached into his pocket and pulled out a black box.
