A Tomboy Living With Boys
Chapter 21: I'm straight
I love the feel of the cool water on my skin as I dive into the pool.
I come back up, taking a deep breathe as I let my head pop out of the water. I quickly adjust and check my bikini to make sure nothing has fallen out or god-knows-what.
The boys all cheer from their places in the pool, and I see Chloe takes her sunglasses off to see what happened before slipping them back on and lying down on the banana lounge again.
I bow as best I can in a pool.
Phil swims over to me, aborting his mission to kill Tim.
"Samon!" Phil greet me.
"Phil-isha!" I smile back.
"I'm so happy to see you! I feel like we haven't seen each other for...like a billion years!" he exasperates.
"What about all those late night skype video chats?" I raise an eyebrow at him.
"You know what I mean Sam! We're finally on Summer break and you will be soon...you should come back and it can be like the old times!" Phil asks me excitedly.
"Phil, it's hardly the old times when we did it last year and I'm not making someone drive a few hours each way just for me. And anyways, if you missed me so much, why didn't you come here sooner?" I fold my arms.
"Because I may or may not have failed my driving test...again and it took heaps of convincing towards Brian to drive us."
My eyebrows knit together, "Why would Brian need heaps convincing to come here?" I ask, wrapping my arms around my body tight, starting to shiver a bit.
"Because he's scared to tell you that he's-" Phil's eyes widen at his slip up, "I mean, Brian just needs to tell you something." Phil says, trying to act nonchalant about it.
I eye Phil, wondering what Brian needs to tell me.
I wait for a second for Phil to give me a clue or anything but he just stands there, smiling uncomfortably at me, trying to cover up what he just said.
After he doesn't do anything I leave him and swim with my head above the water and did long freestyle strokes towards Brian, determined to get an answer.
"Samon!" I hear Phil call after me.
"So yeah, that was one of the main reasons I broke up with her a few months ago..." Brian finishes.
I don't answer straight away because I'm having trouble to reply to Brian coming out, saying he's gay.
"You're not angry or something? Like for me being gay?" Brian asks looking straight into my eyes and searching them.
"What Brian? Angry at you being gay?! Of course not! I'm a bit surprised but it doesn't actually matter at all." I say back to him, finally coming up with what to say but sticking to the truth as well. "And don't worry what other people think of you liking guys. I know I don't give a shit about people thinking I'm straight." I say, lightening up the atmosphere.
"Woah Sam, have these people taught you to swear?" he asks.
Everyone is outside while Brian and I sit at the island bench in the kitchen. There was a time when Jake came in before Brian came out of the closet to me and Jake noticed that we were having a private conversation and thankfully left.
"Yeah well, it kinda has to do with my dad..." I trail off.
"Tell, I'm all ears girl!" Brian says, pretending to be a stereotypical gossip girl.
I laugh with him, "You better go get Tim and Phil, everybody knows but you guys." I say with happiness but I still feel a bit of my happiness go down the drain at all the thoughts going through my head about my father.
Dedicated to wickedzone for new cover :)
I hope you guys like this chapter...
It was pretty eventful.
And please don't comment on how cliche it is and how unlikely it would have been in real life.
But please do comment nice things and vote and don't forget to keep reading as the end is coming close!
Stay funky my little Lillianas <3
