Recap...

I go back to my room which takes me around 5 minutes because this hospital is humongous. I feel a bit tired by the time I get to my room and try to nap for a little while. I sleep for around half an hour before I hear a knock to my door.

"Who is it?" I ask.

"Gift service." A lady says and I'm confused. Gift service?

"Come in." I tell her.

"Are you Layla?"

"We have a special delivery from someone who refers to himself as "mystery man"' I nod and she continues.

"These are for you." She says passing me a bouquet filled with only white, pink, and red roses."

Chapter 8

After the woman leaves, my head starts spinning. My hand is still placed over my mouth because I can't believe that "mystery man" send me roses! Well it could have been Saafiya and Umme as well, but my heart knows that it was him.

I look at the time and see that it's already 3:30, which means that school has been out already for half an hour. I place the roses gently on my side table but as soon as I do that, a small card flips out of the roses that I somehow did not notice was there before. This is what it said on it:

Dear Layla,

I am very sorry that you have a concussion and I hope that you get better soon. Enjoy these roses and remember that I'm expecting a letter from you soon.

Sincerely,
Yours Truly

I hide the note on the side of the bouquet and tuck it in. Just as I finish doing that, Saafiya and Umme barge into the room.

"Assalam O Alaikom Layla how are you feeling?"

"Do you remember anything from then?"

"Does the IV in your arm hurt?"

"When are you getting out?"

"Saafiya, and Umme relax." I tell them because it seems like they are freaking out right now.

"I'm feeling better now and no the IV does not hurt. I'm getting out of this hospital Sunday and I just don't remember what happened the day I had my concussion."

"Oh, my Layla! Do you really not remember what happened that day?" Umme asks and I nod a no sadly.

"In Sha Allah, it will all come back." Saafiya says.

"Ameen." Umme and I say together.

"Who are those gorgeous roses from?"

"It's from mystery man." I tell them.

"Oh my gosh. That is so sweet of him. Layla, you lucky girl." Saafiya said.

"I know right; In Sha Allah we'll have someone as sweet as your "mystery man" one day." Umme said.

"Layla we'll visit you soon but right now we have to leave; our parents told us to tell you that they'll keep you in their Duas. Allah Fiz." Saafiya says.

"Remember that Hamza has your homework by the way. Oh and we picked up some goodies for you since we know that you'll be staying here for some more days. Allah Fiz." Umme says handing me a gift bag.

"Jaza Kallah Khair for everything and Allah Fiz." I tell them as I wave them goodbye.

I open the gift bag once they leave and see that there is a novel inside, some chocolate bars, and Tylenol. I feel grateful for having such great friends.

My mom comes next to quickly check up on me after they leave. I show her the things in the gift bag as well and she tells me that it was nice of them to bring in the stuff for me.

"Layla who bought those roses?"

"I think that it's from him." I tell her honestly.

"That's really sweet of him Layla. Lunch is probably going to come by in a few minutes, so remember that before you devour all the chocolates." She tells me and I'll laugh.

"I'm going to go now, ok Layla?"

"Yes mama, go!"

Lunch surely as mom says did come in the next few minutes and it was mouth watering. It was an English muffin, tomato soup, salad, and vegetable juice (which tasted better than I thought it would Subhan Allah).

I had nothing to do and I wasn't tired at all, so I decided to read some Quran after I did Wudhu which took me quite a while since I wanted to be careful with my steps. When I got to Surah Rahman, and to the line that Subhan Allah was repeated 31 times in the same Surah (Rahman), I cried because of the beautiful meaning to that one sentence.

The Ayah (verse in the Quran) was "Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?" That sentence in itself showed how great Allah (swt) gives us favours and how we don't notice them at all sometimes.

To me this Ayah reminded me of him because for Allah (swt) to send down such a nice gentleman for me, was such a mercy and gift. Obviously I don't know if he is  the one, but I will go along it because for him to show compassion for me by sending me roses, showed how much he cared.

I looked outside and saw that the sun had set, so I wanted to read Namaz, In Sha Allah. I saw a bag that mom left for me and in it, I saw a change of clothes, a Jahnmaz (prayer mat), a bunch of other things, and a compass that showed you the direction in where the Kaba (house of Allah swt) was.

Once I prayed Maghrib, I decided to take a nap for around an hour or so. After my nap, a jolly nurse walked in my room.

"You are Layla Zaman, right?" She said with a large smile.

"Yes." I say with a nod.

"How are you feeling?" She asks.

"Better than before."

"Is your headache gone?"

"I feel it a lot less now. Not gone fully but a lot better than before."

"Well that's really good to hear. I'll come back in an hour or so after dinner and give you some sleeping medicine, so you'll sleep fully for the night with no disturbances." I nod and she soon after leaves.

I decide to read the novel that Saafiya and Umme bought me. I decide to read my Kaza Namaz for yesterday next, because I didn't get to reading the actual Namaz on time.

When it's time for Isha, I decide to read the full Namaz and yes that means 4 Sunnat, 4 Fard, 2 Sunnat, 2 Nafl, 3 With, and 2 Nafl.

This takes a while but with everything going on and the time I have on hand, I have to thank Allah swt on letting me remember a lot more than I might have from my fall.

Dinner is served after I get to finishing my novel and it is delicious as well like every meal served to me so far in this hospital. Dinner is mashed potatoes, beans, vegetable soup, and mango juice.

The nurse true to her words comes coincidentally after I finish my dinner, and puts some sleeping medications in my IV. I read my usual nighttime Duas and Surahs, and soon enough, I fall sleep.
