Louis' POV:

I'm groaning as I walk up the sidewalk to get into work.

Working as a lifeguard has its perks, but after being with Harry almost all day yesterday I didn't get to really rest like I usually do.

Being with Harry makes me more alert. I'm trying to notice everything he does. And I want to learn more about him.

He's so...quiet.

And sometimes I will look at him when he doesn't think I am and he seems so into his thoughts.

Maybe I'm taking this thing way too serious. I mean he's just a guy. And he hasn't done anything special for me.

A drunken kiss?

What is that even supposed to mean anyway?

What if he doesn't even feel anything towards me? I thought maybe when we went to eat yesterday that we could talk. But the environment was just too public for me.

I've never liked a guy before. And it's not something I ever really thought of growing up. My mum would always nudge my shoulder when she would see a nice girl for me.

But I've never looked at a guy the way I look at girls.

I push my thoughts away.

I'm not going to think about him all day, not again.

Since I'm working at the pool in the summer time they like to hire extra people since we need them. And when I walk into the employee locker room I notice some new people and my boss hanging around.

"And this is Louis." My boss pulls aside one girl and points her towards me.

"Hey, I'm Louis." I say raising my hand and giving her a smile.

I'm not good at meeting people.

"Louis this is going to be your new trainee. Her name is Paige." He tells me.

She just looks at me. This can get awkward if you make it that way. So I do my best to move the conversation forward.

"So you're going to be with me today and just see how things work around here, okay?" I look at her for confirmation. And she nods her head with a smile.

"Okay so I guess you're ready and everything just give me a second to change and I'll be right back."

I walk back to the bathrooms and change into my swim trunks and shirt.

When I walk back everyone else has left except Paige, who's sitting on a bench playing with some fringe on her shorts.

"Okay are you ready to go, Paige?"

"Yep." She's says.

Also a quiet one I see.

We make our way out of the locker room and toward the pool area.

There's two different pools, one inside and one outside.

I'm working the outside pool today so I lead Paige through the door that takes us outside and she follows me along still not saying anything.

"So have you ever worked at a pool before?" I ask her.

"No this is my first time having a job ever actually." She's looking around at everything which tells me she's not too interested in small talk.

When we get to the stands we have to be on I set up two chairs so me and her can sit and watch the swimmers.

Don't make it awkward. I try to tell myself.

We sit and watch and we only speak every so often when she thinks of a question or when I'm just tired of the silence.

At the end of work I say goodbye to her and get in my car to go home.

I wonder what's he's been doing all day?

I really need to stop thinking about him so much. It's going to get me in trouble.
