CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE: TMHNW (Closure)

WINTER'S POV

I suddenly opened my eyes when I heard that hard knocks.

"Come in."- I said in a low voice.

"Aren't you going to school today? Get up!"- si Mama. "Join us downstairs."

Then I heard the door close.

Wala sa huwisyong bumangon ako at nag-ayos.

I put a little lipstick and wear a simple dress that every man would want to see to a woman.

Kailangan magwork ang plano ko today.

Payback, time.

Paglabas ko ng kwarto, napakunot ang noo ko.

Ang daming bisita sa baba.

"Oh, Winter!"- my cousin, Allein Maxx Atkins.

She embraced me.

"What's going on?"- I asked.

Inakay niya ako sa isang upuan at inakbayan ako.

"You are the queen now, Winter. I'm happy."- she said.

My father called the attention of all people in the dining area.

"Good morning, everyone. I supposed to declare this on my lovely daughter's birthday. But in my excitement, I'll grab this opportunity."- he started.

"Winter."- he called me.

Tumayo ako at lumapit sa kanya. And I whispered:

"I don't understand, Father."

"Did you think about the contract?"- he replied whispering.

I looked at him blankly.

"I don't know anything about it."- I just said.

He glared at me.

Then he sighed.

"But whatever it is, I'll accept it nalang po. Sorry, Father."- I smiled.

"No."- he sighed, again.

"Everyone, I'm sorry. The announcement will not be announce today. Eat now. Excuse me."- then my father left me.

I saw dismay in every person I see.

"Winter, what happened?"- Allein.

"Are you aware of the announcement that my father will reveal?"- I asked.

She shrugged her shoulders.

"I'll see you on my birthday. I'll just talk to my father. Excuse me."- ako at humalik sa pisngi niya.

"Oh okay."- she smiled.

Mabilis akong umakyat sa kwarto. Medyo nangangatog akong kumatok dahil alam kong galit si Father.

I sighed. Walang sabi-sabing pumasok ako, kahit di pa niya sinasagot ang pagkatok ko.

"Father?"- ako.

Nakatalikod siya na nakaupo sa swivel chair.

"Are you still angry?"- dagdag ko. "Father, I'm sorry, I know it's embarrasing and-----"

"You know it's embarrasing but it happened. Winter, what did I told you?"- he said with cold voice.

"Tatanggapin ko naman po kahit ano pa man yun. Sana itinuloy niyo nalang po."- ako.

"Are you out of your mind? Papasukin mo ang bagay na hindi mo naman alam kung anong klaseng... God, Winter! How come you become my child?"- Father.

May ibinato siya sa akin.

Yung kontratang pinapirmahan niya sakin.

This time, binasa ko ng buo ang nakalagay dun. Then....

"Now, will you accept it?!"- he yelled.

"But the contract says that I will be when I turn to 18. Then I can prepare for it."- ako.

"Hindi mo pa rin pinag-iisipan ang sinasabi mo. Alam mo ba ang mawawala sayo pag tinanggap mo yan?"- siya.

"It's just a business contract, Father. Responsibilidad ko naman po talaga na makiisa at tulungan ang kompanyang magprogress pa. At saka, ggraduate na rin naman po ako, diba? Malapit na. Kung mawawalan man po ako ng time sa sarili ko, dahil sa apat na kompanyang yun, okay lang po. Hindi naman po ako mag-aasawa e. Hehe."- medyo pabiro kong sagot.

"Sigurado ka?"- si Father.

"Opo."- lumapit ako sa kanya then embraced him, at alam kong di niya inaasahan yun. "Ayoko din namang pong mapahiya ka nang dahil lang sakin."

I smiled at him.

"Papasok na po ako sa school. Don't worry, Father. Di po kita ipapahiya sa mga business partners natin. Goodbye."- I kissed his foreheaed before I leave.

<SCHOOL>

*Beep...Beep*

Halos mapatalon ako sa gulat sa pagbusina ni demonyitong si Lucifer.

"What the hell?!"- I yelled.

He smiled at me. Evily.

"Hindi nakakakilig ang ngiti mo. Ano bang kailangan mo?"- ako.

"Hop in."

Sumakay ako sa passenger seat.

"How are you?"- he said then gave me a medium paper bag.

"What this?"- ako.

"My heart."- siya.

"Wag bumanat. Babanatan kita e. Ano ngang kailangan mo?"- ako.

"I just came here dahil napanaginipan kong pati kutsara't tinidor kinakain mo na. Kaya ayan, dinalhan kita ng pagkain."- he smirked.

"Wow. Ang thoughtful mo naman."- I rolled my eyes.

"Thank you, anyway."- ako.

"That food came to my heart, Winter."
