i don't wanna see a single SOUL talk about how i barely worked on ember all year. up until season 5 of stranger things dropped, i was so stuck on this fic. anyone in any discord servers with me knows just how long it took me to smash out a single scene of my most recent chapter. but i really love how THIS chapter came out. it saw allison hanging out with nancy and jonathan (if you can call investigating a demogorgon "hanging out"), a little hint at some backstory from the lab, some eddison crumbs. as calm as it can get in hawkins before the storm.

oh i remember saying that i was going to rapid-fire write doomsday before yellowjackets left australian netflix, only to post this chapter and not touch the fic again. this chapter was a super fun one though, and i had a great time working on it. we've got some run-of-the-mill survival, some creepy shit, andie being weird as usual, and the setup for next chapter's seance. yeah, this fic is FUN and i'm having a great time.

so i actually took two stories down over the course of the year. i ABSOLUTELY will be reposting these at some point, i just did not have the mental bandwidth to focus on that many fics at once, and these happened to have the fewest chapters and smallest audience.

despite the fact that i kept disappearing for extended periods of time this year, i'm still super proud of myself for getting to this point. as someone who is chronically ill and has many days where the most i can do is throw on some youtube videos and crash, managing to write 26 whole chapters is a genuine achievement.

i really do hope to get even more done this year now that i'm taking some steps to better my physical and mental health. hopefully i'll have the energy to get my daily tasks done AND still have some to spare for writing :)

i am INCREDIBLY happy to have finished all too well. that story is my baby, and i would DIE for marilyn dunne. it is super bittersweet to leave it behind, but i can't not be proud of myself for finishing this year's long journey.

i also can't talk about finishing fics off without mentioning oh, joy!, because even though it was a 2024 fic, i HAVEN'T been able to talk about the kind of hell i went through working on it yet and i WANT to. for those who don't know, oh, joy! is a ten part fic for the holdovers that i posted all of on christmas 2024. unfortunately (for me), i left a good chunk of it until the last minute, meaning i was genuinely pulling almost all-nighters working on it during the week leading up to christmas, INCLUDING going to bed at 6am on christmas day after finishing the epilogue. okay, rant over, back to present day.

so, my GOALS FOR 2026 you ask?

— make a decent dent in can't catch me now. i doubt i'll manage to finish it by the end of this year, considering the hunger games have only just begun and i need to get through all of catching fire and mockingjay, plus various flashback scenes. i hope to at LEAST finish the catching fire portion of the story, maybe be a quarter through mockingjay (or halfway through mockingjay part one for my movie fans).

— be on season two of ember. idgaf whereabouts in season two that is. it could be episode one, or the finale, or somewhere between. as long as i've finished up season one and i can get into writing an even cooler allison, i'm happy.

— also be on season two of doomsday. this one will definitely be harder than ember, considering i'm following four ocs instead of just one, and yellowjackets is a WAY heavier show than stranger things, but i want to lock in so i WILL.

— post at LEAST one new fic and commit to it. i have a few in the drafts that are pretty close to being ready to post, i just need to make sure that i actually stick with them and don't leave them in the dust. if anyone wants to vote for a certain one, the closest to being ready are for:
