Chapter 31- Celebrating With My Alpha
(A/N: REPOST-I original posted this chapter a while ago, if you have already read it, ignore this update. There's still a few more chapters I have to repost before I start posting new chapters. Do not comment things that happen later in this book because you are ruining it for people who have not read these chapters yet.)
"So how do you feel? Are you nervous?" I hear the door to my room open and then close. Footsteps hit against my floor and I watch in the mirror as Blake slowly approaches me. I watch as he takes in every detail of me, and I can't help the red flush that comes to my cheeks.
I run my hair through my wavy hair as I take in a deep breathe. I smooth my dress down as Blake comes to stand behind me. He places his hands on my shoulders before pressing a kiss to the back of my head.
"I'm a little nervous, but that's normal, right? I mean it's not every day that you become a Luna," I say in a teasing voice.
"That's true. You look beautiful." I stare into the mirror in front of me, looking at our reflections. My black dress with a sweetheart neckline goes just above my knees with off shoulder sleeves. For shoes I decided to go for black flats since I know I'm going to be standing and I don't want my feet to hurt.
I have a matching set of earrings and a necklace that Blake just brought me. They all have sapphire gems, representing my birthstone.
"Thanks, you look pretty dashing yourself," I say while I turn to face him. He has on black dress pants and a dark blue button up shirt. I tried to convince him to wear a tie, or a bowtie, but he refused. His hair is hanging messily around his face and I'm taken back by how good he looks.
"How did I ever get so lucky?" Blake mumbles to himself. A wide grin settles across my lips.
"Oh shut up," I say while gently nudging his shoulder. His expression doesn't change at all as he pulls me close to him. He rests his head against mine while staring into my eyes.
"I love you."
"I love you too." A gentle kiss is pressed against my forehead before he pulls away.
"Well we should probably head out before people get the wrong idea and wonder what we are doing in here," he says before winking at me. I giggle in response and nod my head.
"Who knows what my dad would do to you." He fake shudders before holding out his arm to me. I grin as I accept his arm. He returns my smile with a grin of his own while leading me out of my room. Just as he is about to open the door, he stops short.
The smile on his face disappears and his eyes fog over. I stare at his face, trying to figure out what's going on, but he doesn't give much away. He seems pretty calm, minus his tense jaw.
He stays like that for a few minutes until his eyes unfog and focus on me. He clears his throat before offering me a smile.
"Who was that?"
"It was just Eric," he answers, sounding completely calm. I can tell by his stiff posture that whatever Eric said is bothering him.
"What's wrong?" I ask as I stare impatiently at his face. He frowns for a moment before giving me another small smile.
"Nothing's wrong. You don't need to worry about anything," he says before he grabs my hand to usher me out of the room.
I pull my hand away from him and take a few steps back before giving him a stern look.
"There is definitely something going on, and I have a right to know! Especially if it's something about the pack!"
"I'll tell you after the ceremony. Let's go, we are going to be late," he says, making a grab for my hand again. I push him away and place my hands on my hips.
