'Why didn't you ever report Y/N's disappearance?' the doctor asked. Hannibal would need a good cover story, one that covered the fact that he went behind the laws back to find you.
'I never knew her well enough, I assumed she quit the job. I never imagined she went missing. Did her family not report it?' he asked, acting as if he didn't already know everything about you.
'She doesn't have anyone, not even an emergency contact. Listen, I'm sure you're a very nice person and mean the best but this girl has gone through absolute hell,' she said as Hannibal nodded.
'I can only imagine, I was psychiatrist before I was a professor. I know the effects of trauma,' he said as she sighed and nodded.
'You can go talk to her, but the police officers will be staying outside of the door,' she said. Hannibal nodded and thanked her before heading back into the room. He saw you still staring out the window.
'I didn't tell them you were there,' you muttered as he placed the flowers down.
'I appreciate it, Y/N. He's definitely dead, Will and I mare it look like a murder suicide,' he said.
'I told the doctor I hurt the wife,' you whispered. He sighed, he wanted to get irritated at the fact you had given up a crime, but he knew you weren't in a good state of mind...or a regular killer.
'That's okay, the police will rule you out after the evidence we planted. They'll just think you're distressed and remembering things wrong,' he said. He looked at you as you stared out the window.
'You noticed me missing...?' you whispered, he could tell you were holding back tears.
'From the first day, yes. I've been searching ever since, I'm sorry it took me so long,' he said. You turned and looked at him, exhaustion and confusion in your eyes.
'Why didn't you report it?'
'Its complicated, Y/N. That explanation can wait for the moment,' he said. You decided to not question him further, you were too tired.
'Why bother searching for me? We only met a few times, I'm a nobody,' you said. Hannibal looked at you with sadness in his eyes as he leaned in and gently took your hand.
'Because even from those few interactions I knew you were a good person. No one was willing to fight to find you, I couldn't let you die alone somewhere,' he said we you stared down at his hand holding yours.
'But I'm nothing. I'm worthless, you shouldn't have wasted your time,' you whispered as you began to tear up. You pulled your hand away from him and turned away.
'Y/N, whatever Jake tried to make you believe it isn't true. It was apart of his manipulation,' he said. You began to cry even more, your body trembling.
'I just want to die,' you whispered. Hannibal looked at you sadly before he moved to the other side so you would look at him.
'My dear, you are far from worthless.' He lifted your chin up as you sobbed, he gently reached forward and wiped your tears away.
'Stop wasting your time, please. Please just go and forget about me, please,' you whispered through your tears. In that moment Hannibal wished he could turn back time and kill Jake a few more times.
'I'm not going anywhere, I'm staying right here, Y/N,' he said. You continued to sob as he looked at where they had amputated your arm. You tried to speak but just ended up crying even more. Hannibal moved back around to the other side and held onto your left hand. You weren't pulling away this time so that was a good sign. You kept mumbling about wanting to die over and over, about how uncomfortable your entire body felt. Hannibal knew it was from the sexual and emotional abuse you had been through. Whatever he said right now wouldn't be heard, so instead he just sat and gently ran his thumb over your knuckles while you cried.
Eventually you had cried yourself to sleep, the exhaustion taking over your body. Will entered after getting as much information from the police.
'How is she?' he asked as Hannibal glanced at him.
'Broken, physically and mentally. It's to be expected, we don't know the full extent of what he did to her,' Hannibal said. Will sighed and sat down beside Hannibal.
'Is it weird this is the first time I'm meeting the girl we spent months looking for?' he asked making Hannibal chuckle quietly.
'Weird is one way to put it,' he said. Will looked at you, noticing how pained you looked even while asleep.
'She went through pure torture for five months and no one even noticed,' Will whispered. Hannibal still held your hand, gently running his thumb over the skin.
'We noticed, that's enough.'

The doctor returned with blood test results, letting Hannibal know that you would need STI medication.
'She will be cleared to go home in about a week, but will need regular appointments at the hospital closer to her address,' the doctor said. Hannibal nodded and glanced back at you asleep. 'Are you willing to help her? I don't mean to put all of this on you, but she needs someone right now,' she said.
Hannibal nodded and sighed. 'I know, I'll help her. The last thing she needs is to be alone,' he said. The doctor sighed in relief.
'I'll get in contact with the hospital closest to her apartment, she'll need physical therapy and trauma therapy.'
