Morning light slid across the Cookie Kingdom like a quiet promise. Inside the castle walls, two cookies moved with purpose. Pure Vanilla Cookie checked the straps on his pack, while Almond Cookie sorted through tools, potions, and anything that might help them track Shadow Milk Cookie. Somewhere far from these safe walls, Reader Cookie was captive, and every second felt stolen.

Almond shut his bag with a firm snap.
"They could be anywhere by now. Shadow Milk does not hide in simple places."

"We will find them," Pure Vanilla said. His voice was calm, steady, the way it always was when his heart was anything but.

Before Almond could answer, a knock tapped at the door.

"I am sorry for the intrusion, but I wanted to talk about this journey," came a voice from the hallway.

"Come in," Pure Vanilla called.

The door swung open. Wizard Cookie stepped in, and behind him marched GingerBrave, Strawberry Cookie, and Walnut Cookie. They stood in a determined little row, like tiny soldiers ready for a battle twice their size.

"LET US GO WITH YOU!" Walnut Cookie shouted.

"Yeah! We can help rescue Reader Cookie!" GingerBrave added, bouncing on his feet.

"Please. We are worried about them," Strawberry Cookie said, her small voice steady with conviction.

Almond Cookie's brows lifted. "Absolutely not. It is dangerous. You kids let us handle it."

Wizard Cookie crossed his arms. "We fought Shadow Milk before. We can take it!"

"You fought him once," Almond corrected, "and he nearly flattened GingerBrave like dough."

"Only once!" GingerBrave protested.

Almond opened his mouth to continue the argument, but Walnut Cookie stepped forward, chin high.

"I will not abandon my family when they need me. Reader Cookie was always there for me. I will be there for them too." Then her voice softened. "Please, Dad. I want to help save my big sibling."

Her words hit Almond harder than any spell. He glanced at Walnut, then at the others, who all wore the same pleading look. A perfect collection of hope, determination, and trouble.

He turned to Pure Vanilla for backup.

Pure Vanilla only smiled, eyes closed in that peaceful way of his that somehow said Why not?

Almond groaned into his palms. "Alright. You can come. But you listen to us. No wandering off. No reckless moves. Understood?"

The cheer that erupted nearly shook the walls. Almond sighed, long and defeated.

He shot Pure Vanilla a look. "Do not say it."

Pure Vanilla blinked innocently. "Say what?"

"That innocent face. Do not pretend you do not know exactly what you are doing. Uh just like I am talking to Reader Cookie"

They both broke into quiet laughter.

"Yes, Reader Cookie does take after us, do they not?" Pure Vanilla said.

Almond smirked. "I only hope they are giving Shadow Milk Cookie a hard time."

Pure Vanilla rubbed his forehead. "I only hope they do not go overboard."

Almond folded his arms. "Pure Vanilla, I love that kid too. They are kind. They are caring. But they are also petty."

Walnut raised a hand. "Once, I ate their baking without asking. They hid all my sweets for a month. A whole month!"

Wizard nodded solemnly. "After the Vanilla Kingdom council that one time, Reader Cookie enchanted Clotted Cream Cookie's cape so it would flutter dramatically at the worst possible moments."

"I think they went easy on him," Strawberry murmured.

GingerBrave blinked. "Why would you think that?"

Wizard let out a long sigh. "Because I remember the time someone tried to scam Reader Cookie for money. They made that cookie the luckiest but unluckiest cookie alive."

Pure Vanilla frowned. "How is that even possible?"

Wizard stared ahead with a flat expression. "Every time he gets close to success, it fails at the last moment. In the most embarrassing way."

Almond's jaw dropped. "How?!"

"Magic," Wizard said, as if that explained every disaster in the world. Maybe it did.

Pure Vanilla exhaled softly, almost a prayer. "Shadow Milk Cookie will not have an easy time with them."

"For his sake, I hope he brought extra patience," Almond muttered.

And for a quiet moment, everyone shared the same thought.

Wherever Reader Cookie was, their captor was certainly learning a lesson.

A loud one.

A chaotic one.

And most likely, a deserved one.

Ok that it for today or tomorrow? Whatever.

Sorry about making it short but you will have more chapters.

Reader Cookie will grace their apperance in next chapter.

See ya!
