Every day, many people come to Shao's company seeking an audience with Shao Qiyan, and judging from Wei Ye's attire, he certainly doesn't seem like someone who can succeed.
Yet, it was he who, after being rejected by the receptionist, made a phone call that nearly made the receptionist's eyes pop out of their sockets.
—Shao Qiyan answered the phone. He personally instructed the receptionist to let him through.
After more than ten minutes, people began to emerge from the conference room. The secretary, carrying documents, jogged towards the tall figure, "Mr. Shao, please sign this. Also, Mr. Wei has been waiting for you."
After signing, Shao Qiyan handed the documents back, his gaze meeting Wei Ye's slightly anxious eyes. "Have you been waiting long? I'm sorry." He smiled and nodded, "Come with me."
...
"To be honest, it's not that I can't help you with this. But this is different from saving Sheng Qingqing; the impact is significant."
Shao Qiyan's gentle voice echoed in the president's private lounge. “The Shao and Lin families have an ongoing collaboration. If Lin Tianhao is sent to prison, it will put me in a difficult position.”
“Mr. Shao, I know you’ve helped me many times. Including helping me deal with Lin Tianhao’s harassment before… If Lin Tianhao hadn’t mentioned it that day, I wouldn’t have known it was you.” Wei Ye lowered his head, his voice muffled. Hearing Shao Qiyan casually say it was “just a small favor,” he felt even more ashamed.
He stammered, “I know this is almost moral blackmail. I used to hate this kind of shameless behavior… but I wanted to try it anyway.”
A young man at an age when pride is at its peak, yet he was about to do something against his will, so embarrassed he almost buried his head in his chest.
In the bright light from the French windows, Shao Qiyan could clearly see the pale skin on the back of his neck flushing red at a visible speed.
Silence fell in the room. Shao Qiyan’s gaze remained gentle throughout, but he neither agreed nor refused, only smiling at Wei Ye.
This gaze seemed to bring no psychological pressure, but in the anxious silence, it made Wei Ye particularly uncomfortable.
Wei Ye clenched his fists, then suddenly looked up at Shao Qiyan and said, "Since you didn't directly refuse, are you... going to make some demands? Like... is there anything I can do for you?"
He bit his lip, pressing so hard that his beautiful red lips turned pale, trying to make his awkward words sound tactful.
"I can make demands?" Shao Qiyan chuckled softly. "Like what?"
"Like..." Wei Ye's chest heaved, as if he had made up his mind. He got up from the sofa, slowly walked to Shao Qiyan's legs, and squatted down.
"Didn't you want me to work for you? I'm ready now." He raised his long neck, like a swan awaiting sacrifice.
The sunlight shone directly, almost revealing the pale blue veins on his fair neck, his collarbone clearly visible at his collar, and a youthful, pleasant scent wafted over.
Inexperienced, green, yet undeniably alluring.
Beneath Shao Qiyan's calm exterior, an unreadable emotion flickered in his eyes. He seemed puzzled by Wei Ye's abrupt behavior, yet also seemed to be waiting to see what he could do.
Wei Ye's eyelashes trembled nervously. Seeing that he didn't react, he hesitated before reaching out and gently placing his hand on the thigh in front of him.
Suddenly, the muscles under his hand tensed, causing him to recoil as if burned.
He almost fell on his cute little bottom.
"So this is what you mean by working for me," Shao Qiyan suddenly chuckled softly. "But how can you accomplish anything when you're this scared?"
"I can," Wei Ye said urgently. "If you're willing to help me, I'll meet your requirements."
"But I don't need it," Shao Qiyan shook his head with a smile. "Why would you think that?"
"I know there's no such thing as a free lunch." Having entered society early, Wei Ye understood the ways of the world. No one will help you for free; to gain something, you must first give something.
"You lack nothing. I know I have nothing else that can move you, so..." His eyes showed confusion, "You...you really don't need it?"
Shao Qiyan sighed. "You think too lowly of me."
A warm touch on his shoulder, a pair of large hands helping him up. The other person said, "You're precious, don't sell yourself out so easily."
Wei Ye's eyes reddened with emotion.
On the system map, red dots for targets represented hostility, while green dots represented affection. All three dots were currently light green, and what puzzled Wei Ye was that he hadn't even really pursued Shao Qiyan yet, but Shao Qiyan's dot was the darkest green.
He choked back tears as he said to the system, "Such a handsome man is throwing himself at me, and Shao Qiyan still refuses? Is this a distortion of humanity or a moral decay?"

Wei Ye guessed, "Do you think he might be sexually apathetic?"
[How could that be!] 001 felt slandered.
[Can't it just be his character, okay!]
Wei Ye nodded in deep agreement; perhaps it was a long-term strategy.
Shao Qiyan looked down at the dejected Wei Ye, his tone slightly somber, and said, "You're willing to sacrifice so much to help Sheng Qingqing, do you like her?"
"No," Wei Ye shook his head. "We're both orphans, we share the same fate, I consider her family." His tone was sincere. "I had a grandfather who loved me, but Qingqing had such a scumbag adoptive father. She's a college student, and now that she's finally made it, she shouldn't suffer such misfortune."
Shao Qiyan knew that Wei Ye had a deep bond with his adoptive grandfather. When his grandfather had cancer, he borrowed money for his treatment, incurring a huge debt.
After his grandfather passed away, Wei Ye was all alone, so it wasn't surprising that he considered Sheng Qingqing, also an orphan, as family.
A smile spread across Shao Qiyan's face. He said, "Don't be sad, I promised to help you."
"Really? But I..."
Shao Qiyan looked at him and said gently, "If you want to thank me, then really come and work for me."
—When
Wei Ye resigned, Sister Wang was incredibly surprised. In her opinion, Wei Ye was doing just well in tattooing, at the peak of his career. But after several unsuccessful attempts to persuade him to stay, she had no choice but to agree and have him complete the resignation procedures the next day. After
signing the last word, Wei Ye put down his pen and heard Sister Wang sigh, "Qingqing resigned, and now you're resigning too... Where am I supposed to find someone suitable all of a sudden?"
Wei Ye said apologetically, "I've caused you trouble these past few days."
Sister Wang waved her hand, feeling reluctant to part, and offered him her blessings.
After saying goodbye, Wei Ye slowly walked out of the tattoo shop. He hadn't gone far after turning the
corner when he froze. Not far away, a familiar figure leaned against the wall. The evening glow was brilliant, outlining his well-proportioned figure, his jawline taut, a spark dancing on his fingertips.
Wei Ye opened his mouth, "Boss..."
"Still calling me boss." Xue Guangyu glanced at him sideways, "Didn't you resign?"
Wei Ye hesitated and nodded, "Yes, I found a new job."
"A new job?" Xue Guangyu scoffed. He extinguished his cigarette and approached, his gaze dark and brooding, as if trying to suck him in, "You went with Shao Qiyan?"
