Tears are troublesome things. Always there when you least like them to be. To some, tears are seen as a weakness - and by some I mean Demitra Veleksa.
She had made her way out of the school, pushing and shoving the increasingly bustling crowd, before bursting into the gardens of nevermore.
She bit back her tears, tidied herself up and slowed her breathing to a suitable speed.
Demitra chuckled to herself slightly - she had finally stood up for herself to her mother.
She couldn't quite believe it to be honest. Seeing her mother so stunned by her daughter's snaps was so ... satisfying.
Weaving through the various rose bushes, she entered a clearing filled with bewitching plants and soft lanterns emitting a gentle glow over the terrace which stood beautifully in the centre.
Moving her maroon skirts to lay down perfectly, she sat down on the benches of the warm terrace with a deep, troubled sigh. It appeared to her that recently a single day seemed to last the same time and effort of an eternity - she hadn't been this busy in ages.
''I'm guessing you did it then.''
Demitra spun around, the face of her lover coming into view.
''..Mhm.''
Isaac sat next to her and placed a reassuring hand onto her leg, ''I'm proud of you. It took a lot for you to do that Rose.''
Demitra frantically blinked, fighting back the warm tears forming in her eyes, ''I don't know what to do anymore.'' she breathed.
Isaac brought the trembling girl closer into a welcoming embrace - his body heat and care seemingly fighter the tears like a kind hearted soldier.
''Just think, once we fix Francoise's problem, we're free to go and do whatever we want.''
Demitra rolled her eyes at the name of that particular girl causing Isaac to laugh and shake his head.
"I forgot about you and my sister's argument." The boy reminisced, "doesn't time fly."
"It's been what? 30 years?" She laughed.
"Something like that. Felt like longer."
"Ahh yes time must move incredibly slowly when you're rotting in a grave," Demitra jested, causing Isaac to nudge her slightly.
"Hey! Rotting is a bit harsh."
"You remember those mystery meat sandwiches?!"
"Ugh don't remind me!"
"You seemed to like them a lot when you were scoffing them!"
"That was slurp, we are two different people in my mind."
"Probably for the best, slurp was quite the odd character."
"Yes..."
Demitra's hand fidgeted with the cold false fingers of Isaac's glove whilst they talked.
She hadn't been told about the whereabouts of Isaac's severed hand, only he planned to get it back. The suspense was truly killing her.
"I've been thinking.." Isaac said.
"When do you not?"
Isaac sighed humorously, " once this is all done with.. now that we're back together again.. maybe you'd want to.."
"Move into the hideout with you afterwards?"
The boy paused and - for once in his life - a look of pure undeniable confusion painted his face.
"..yes.. how did you know?"
"You're a very loud talker, I heard Francoise mention to you about her moving away with Tyler, to be honest I was going to ask you the same question."
"Well would you want to?"
"I would love to.. Slurp."
Isaac shot a playful glare towards the girl, who shot up before facing the boy's offence. Isaac jumped up and grabbed the girl - the pair laughing in each other's arms now in the centre of the terrace - a picturesque scene of young love and tranquility.
Isaac's hand flicked behind the girl, and with a swish of his good wrist, the music box at the bottom of the steps leading up to the pair.
