GAMBLE OF FLAMES

AN UNSAID PROMISE

IN THE HOSPITAL

Everyone was standing around the bed in a small cabin of the hospital. The fragile looking Geetanjali was lying beside the new born baby. While Kartavya with his adoring eyes kept looking at Geetanjali and the baby. All his friends were accompanying him. Kartavya has got his complete family in the shade of his friends forever.

You name them; Abhimaan, Abhimanyu or Adhavan all of them stood with him no matter what or when. Not only these guys but their beloved wives would leave no stone unturned to give Geetanjali a warm homely atmosphere.

Finally Abhimaan came forward and picked the baby girl in his arms. He was cooing her when Kartavya asked him to name his daughter. With a charming smile on his face he pronounced "ABHIGNA". From then onwards the new born was named as Abhigna but she was renowned as Abhigyan's Abhigna.

Abhigyan looked at Abhigna and in the first sight itself he declared "Mine".

All of them laughed at his childish demand unaware of what destiny held for them.

They all talked, laughed and teased each other. But a pair of eyes were stuck at the little Abhigna. His lips were sealed but his mind was in a havoc.

Meera walked towards the bed and kept Abhigna beside Geetanjali after a small peck on her forehead. She turned and said, "hum sab ko chalna chahiye, Geetu ko rest karne dete hain"

Rest of them nodded and stood up. Wishing Kartavya and Geetanjali 'good night' they all started leaving.

"Kya hua Adhyansh beta?", Geetanjali sweetly asked to Adhyansh who was left behind and was curiously looking at Abhigna.

Kartavya went near him and ruffled his hair and asked, "kya baat hai Adhyansh ? All good?"

Without giving any reply Adhyansh ran out of the room towards Abhimaan.

"Oye champ, where were you?", Abhimaan asked and crouched infront Adhyansh

Sanyukta and Abhimanyu were curious to know what their son is upto.

"Mamu", Adhyansh uttered while panting

"Yes bacha", Abhimaan replied with full attention

"I want to know something", Adhyansh said

Hearing this Sanyukta interrupted, "Adhyansh it's quite late now. Lets go baad mein baat kar lena"

Adhyansh who was usually very obedient didn't move from his place as if he didn't hear his mother's words in the first place.

"If I will stood first in my school and will become an all-round topper, will you give me what I want?", Adhyansh for the first time in his life demanded something

"What do you want?", Meera asked

Adhyansh simply smiled looking at Meera but didn't say anything as usual. Only his pinky finger got hooked with that of Abhimaan's.

An unsaid promise was made. A promise which is going to decide the fate of several lives

The biggest gamble in their life which will turn their lives upside down and will burn them with the flames of love.
