When Riley left John Quincy Adams Middle School, she thought she was beginning a new life, being a Freshman at John Adams High School is quite different. Being at the bottom of the food chain of high school is challenging. That was until Maya came around.
Ok, so Maya's always been around. She's been to all of Riley's birthday parties and stayed at her house enough to live there. But now, it's different.
Being a freshman also means she has more freedoms. She's now allowed to date, she can go to parties, she even has her learners permit (which in New York isn't saying much).
Her favorite part about freshman year is the dating part. After having a crush on her best friend for two years, she can ask her out.
Now, both girls are happily in love with each other, and despite others' beliefs, opposites do attract.
Now let's hope they can make it out of high school alive.
