The principal's office in Nevermore's turrets had once been a warm and welcoming room - when Weems had been alive.
It now contained not one, but two tyrants - Barry Dort and Demitra's mother, Silvia Veleska.
A hellish pairing based on dishonesty and oppression in the form of Morning Song.
''You said she would be away from those... disgusting people, Barry. But now I hear she helped a zombie who was apparently that Night boy and not to mention the Addams'.''
''Silvia, the boy is gone and your daughter still doesn't remember a thing. Trust me.''
''Trust is not a word I associate with crooks like you, Dort.''
''Careful, Silvia, one word from me and your little.. arrangement, with your daughter is burnt to the ground.''
''And one word from me and your business' secrets are revealed.''
''Tell me, do you think you will still be able to pass on your chore of cutting strings to young Demitra when she finds out how you revived her''
''I didn't rise her from the dead Dort, you are twisting the story.''
''Yes but you did preserve her in that coma didn't you. I wonder how she would react.''
''You wouldn't dare.''
''Oh I would, unless you continue to cut strings for me.''
With a sigh, Silvia caved, ''Very well. But Demitra can never find out.''

The base had a certain uncomfortable quiet about it. Isaac had stormed into a room, agitated at the failure of his machine, closely followed by Francoise and Tyler. Demitra was left to herself, sitting at the kitchen table.
Her mind raced, she could tell they were plotting - and she hated not knowing what it was about.
She stood up quietly and strode carefully over to the closed door, kneeling down. Pressing her ear against the crack at the bottom of the door she listened in.
''You need to calm down Tyler.''
''She continues to beat me, mum. I need her to go.''
''And she will, Tyler,'' Isaac spoke, ''The family will all go once we ruin them, starting with the death of Wednesday.''
Demitra shot up. She couldn't let Wednesday die. She had to warn the girl.
She quietly jogged over to the steel door that was the entrance of the lair and tried the handle carefully. It was unlocked.
She had gained the family's trust in the past couple of days; a sense of guilt bloomed inside her as she began to spoil their trust.
The door squeaked as she pushed it open, her blood ran cold.
''Rose?'' Isaac spoke from behind her,a glint of betrayal in his features.
Demitra looked back for a second before she shot into the hallway and sprinted up the stairs into the outside world.
Isaac sped up after her, hot on her trail.
She hurried through the woods, her feet sprinting towards the direction of Nevermore - aware of the closing distance between her and Issac.
It turns out zombies run fast - much faster than her.
Closer
And closer.
The gap closed until Isaac could reach his left hand forward and grab hers.
He wasn't wearing his usual pair of gloves.
As soon as his hand touched hers, a sharp pain rang through her head - more severe than she had ever felt before. Isaac watched as her head fell forwards and she passed out. Before she could fall to the ground he gently caught her and laid her down.
For Demitra, one minute the world went black and the next, she woke up in the forest, only it was different - nothing was around her apart from acres of tall spindly trees like fingers and she was alone.
''Isaac?'' she called in fear of her surroundings.
''You won't find him here.''
Demitra spun round to see a clone of herself only her body was slightly see through as if she was a ghost.
''What is this?''
''God, I haven't changed at all.'' the clone laughed.
''Rose?''
''Well I see I'm still slow.''
''How is this happening?''
''Well I am your past self, clearly. I've come to guide you.''
''You had to knock me out to do so.''
''I had to talk to you.. me.. you - well, you know what I mean.''
''What about?''
''Demitra, very soon you will go and find your memories and you must know that what you will find will change everything.''
''Are they bad?''
''At first, they are the complete opposite - you really forgot the best years of your life but towards the end - lets just say you'll look at the people around you very differently after.''
''Do you have to speak in riddles?''
''Well I am you.''
''Where are they anyway?''
''Well that is for you to figure out. I can't tell you, only guide you.''
''So what's my clue?''
''Your memories are ticking in your lover's skull.''
''..Ew.''
''Chances are they are closer than you think.''
''Skull... ticking.. Isaac's tree! The tale of the skull tree - there in there!''
''Well maybe Isaac's brains are rubbing off on you after all - go and get them back, but don't let them change you.''
The sharpness in her mind cut again and once again things faded to darkness, before she woke up in the real world, met with Isaac's worried gaze.
''Are you alright?''
''I know where they are.'' she breathed.
A bright smile lit up his face, ''That's excellent,'' his smile faltered slightly, ''then you must go.''
''I'm sorry, but I have to get them back, and I have to help my friends.''
''Promise me I'll see you again.''
''I'm sure when I get my memories back, we will have much to talk about Isaac. I promise.''
She stuck out her pinky jokingly and he hooked his around it with a laugh - binding their promise.
Isaac watched as she stood up and rushed away into the trees.
