How is it in the space of a month, things could go so wrong.

When Demitra had come to Nevermore she had wanted nothing more than a quiet year - not that there was such a thing at Nevermore apparently.

She thought about this as she strolled through the forest near the school - she needed a major mental break.

She had never had a vision that intense before - it was as if they were building up, but to what she had no clue.

The sun shone onto the forest - the trees glistened with the rays and a golden haze set upon the woodland.

Her eyes were glued to the ground as she allowed her mind to ramble.

Well, until it was interrupted by a voice.

''Hello, Demitra.''

She spun around to see the zombie - although she wasn't sure if she should call him that anymore as he now closely resembled a human. His dark curls, once bare and almost non existent now shone in the light and his face which had been rotten and disintegrating was now almost completely healed apart from the slight green tint and it almost sat onto his bones tightly as if it was still finding where it sat perfectly.

''That is what you wanted to be called is it not? I'm sorry for getting your name wrong, sweetheart, it was just you always wanted me to call you Rose.''

''I have never met you before,'' Demitra sighed, ''I don't know what's going on but I don't remember that.''

''Hmm, interesting,'' he drawled, ''it as if you have been stripped of your memories. But you look the exact same! It is quite the perfect preservation.''

A silent tension - so sharp it could cut the air - fell upon the two before Demitra said, ''Your name is Isaac, isn't it?''

''Very good, at least you know that,'' he said before stalking closer.

''It's much better than slurp,'' Demitra tried to joke, expecting it to go down badly except Isaac only chuckled slightly.

''It wasn't my best look, I have to admit.''

Demitra let out a genuine laugh, ''That's an understatement, you ate out of a dog bowl.''

''Don't remind me,'' Isaac grimaced before chuckling - a melodical sound that filled the scene, ''I wanted to thank you Demitra, for letting me go at the festival,''

''I didn't want you to get arrested,'' she sighed, ''Where are you staying now?''

''I'm afraid I can't tell you that, but you'll see, very soon. I'm so sorry for this.''

Demitra frowned, ''What do yo-''

She was quickly interrupted by Isaac's hand flying up to her face, his other arm's forearm supporting the back of her head as he thrust a chemically smelling cloth over her nose and mouth.

A flash of betrayal glinted in her eyes as he spoke,''Breathe, my love, soon we can be together again.''

And with that, dark spots filled her vision and her eyes slowly shut off from the rest of the world.

Her eyes slowly opened.

''You didn't have to tie her up!'' Isaac's voice exclaimed.

''What about when she wakes up and bolts to go and tell everyone! What do me and Tyler do then?'' A female voice spat.

Demitra let out a groan as her eyes adjusted to the light. She tried to move her arms to cover them but she soon found the ropes around her chest, tying her to the chair.

She looked up and searched her surroundings. She appeared to be sat at a round homely kitchen table decorated with flowers. Demitra noted how she was sat facing  what looked like a kitchen with no windows, an obnoxious yellow painted the walls and the room was dimly lit.

Demitra turned her head round to look over her shoulder.

''Jesus!'' she breathed as she was startled with three pairs of watchful eyes leaning towards her.

The first was Isaac's apologetic but also hopeful stare, he nodded at her politely before resuming his unbreakable gaze.

The next belonged to a raggedy woman, who wore a motherly dress which was a stark contrast to her hollow face which stared at her suspiciously - Francoise.

The third and final pair of eyes belonged to a boy, not much older than herself, who stared at her in a way that said - Who the hell are you? Demitra recognised the boy from newspaper clippings she had seen around the town, it was none other than Tyler Galpin, a boy who had caused such chaos for her roommates.

Francoise set a gentle hand on Tyler's shoulder before guiding him out of the room.

As soon as they left, Isaac rushed forward and untied the girl, his gloved hand grazing her bicep, just below where her school blouse sleeve ended. The touch sent a shiver up the girl's neck.

''It was of the purest intentions, I swear.'' He spoke.

''What? Kidnapping me?'' Demitra hissed, before shoving the ropes off of her and standing up.

''It wasn't a serious kidnapping - a nice one. I care about you.''

''Seriously? This is your way of showing how you care? Drugging me and bringing me to this dump? You know, most people just buy flowers.''

''Well, kidnapping is one of the many things I do best, but if it means that much to you I will bring you flowers next time, Demi.''

''Haha very funny,'' she crossed her arms before spotting something in the corner of the room making her reel back in disgust and shock.

''Is that a body?!''

Isaac turned calmly before shrugging, ''I need to keep eating the brains, I'm not fully human yet.''

Demitra paused - contemplating whether she should ask the question she was thinking or not, ''What do they taste like? The brains?'' she had given in to her intrusive thought.

Isaac laughed, ''Of course you'd ask that.''

''You clearly know me well.''

''You'd be surprised.''

''So we did know each other?''

''Yes, when we were at school?'' He reminisced.

''Doesn't that make me about 40 years old?''

''Yes I'm not sure what's happened either, but I'll find out for you.''

''Isaac?'' Demitra asked.

''Yes, my love.''

''What was I to you?''

''My everything''
