Demitra could feel her eyes slowly start to close as Miss Capri started yet another slow song on her piano. For the last half an hour, Demitra had been fighting the sleep from overtaking her body.
Jolting her awake, a sharp whisper came from behind her, ''Demitra.''
Spinning round to face the door where the noise had come from, she saw Eugene, who wore a worried look on his face, and Pugsley who looked clueless as always.
There was absolutely nothing that could break Miss Capri's attention from her music when she was deep in a piece so Demitra was safe to step out quickly.
''What's going on? she asked.
''Don't ask me,'' Pugsley shrugged.
Eugene turned to face Pugsley as he spat, ''Your pet zombie, slurp ..''
''For the last time he's not a pet'' Demitra scolded.
''Not the time Demitra! He escaped,'' Eugene said exasperated.

Holding the foul sandwich far away from her nose she continued to scatter it on her walk while saying the occasional nervous, ''Here, slurpy, slurpy slurpy slurpy,'' in a sing song voice.
There was something rather beautiful about forests, she thought, trying to distract herself. The way their trees loomed or it felt like you were worlds away when really she wasn't even a mile away from the school. That is, forests were beautiful when there wasn't a killer zombie loose in one.
The girl had been walking for at least an hour now and was beginning to feel the effects. Moving over to a part of the forest where she could sit down comfortingly, where the trees were less packed, she placed her bag and herself down.
Looking around her surroundings, she took a moment to appreciate the silence, as much as she liked Nevermore, you weren't able to to get a moment's peace there.
That's when she noticed it.
A small engraving on the tree roots opposite her.
She stood up, dusted the pine needles off of her skirt and knelt next to the engraved tree. It had been embellished with a scratchy heart containing two initials - i + d
