It had been raining for a week.
One whole week of non-stop rain. But that didn't stop the school from holding the Tournament.
See, there are professional Azure competitions, and Pro Holders. However, no one under the age of 18 is allowed to enter. So, there is the SAT. Not the test kind though, the Scholastic Azure Tournament. A team of 6 students represent each school. And Diamond Academy had won the past 3 years.
The Tournament is Diamond Academy's way of selecting their top 6. An in school tournament to decide who the strongest 6 are.
"So what do you think Cy?"
Cypher glanced away from the sign up hologram toward Lala.
"Oh, nothing. I was just reading about the SAT."
"Pretty cool, huh?" Lala said as she stood next to him.
"Yeah, I guess."
"Why don't you sign up? Everyone does. Plus, Alphas get to skip the first round, so we'd have it easier."
"Well, we'd cream most other girls. The first round is basically where they weed out who isn't tough enough to maybe go toe to toe with a B rank. Round 2 is where A's are added to the mix."
"I guess that makes sense. But I don't think I'd make it very far."
"Well I'm afraid you have no choice Master Cif."
Cypher and Lala jumped, turning to the voice behind them.
"Madame Elekta! What are you doing here?"
"Passing by." She said with that sharp tone of hers. "Besides, I overheard you say you didn't want to participate?"
"Th-that's right Madame."
"I'm afraid you have no choice. You will be participating in the Tournament."
"As an A rank, you are one of our strongest students. We can't let that kind of power go to waste."
Madame Elekta activated a button on the hologram bringing up a list. She scrolled through and highlighted a name.
"See. It's been decided."
Cypher stared at the holographic list, his name highlighted.
"I'd get ready Master Cif. Your first fight is in 3 days."
And with that she walked away.
"Geez, she's kinda scary." Lala said softly. "Don't you think Cy?... Cy?"
He stood there, staring at his name.
"I guess... I guess I have no choice huh?"
It had been raining for a week, and Zassa couldn't be happier. She loved this type of gloomy weather. She loved standing in the rain as it poured down. She didn't care if she got wet. She just loves the feeling of it. And the roof was the best place to stand in the rain.
From a puddle behind her, a figure began to crawl out of the water. Her hands came out first, then she pulled herself up and out of the puddle. The girl was drenched head to toe in water, but looked completely content.
"Well Avina? What did you find out?"
"He's in, my lady."
Zassa grinned. She looked out across the campus, toward the Coliseum.
"Good. Are the others ready?"
"As ready as we'll ever be my lady."
"Good. Go and get ready then. This should be quite... entertaining."
As the rain fell down on Avina, with every drop, she disappeared with the water. Eventually she was gone, leaving Zassa alone.
"Soon... Soon we shall be reunited my love."
And Azura can do nothing to stand in my way.
Zassa laughed. And so did the voice in her head.
