James' POV:

I stare at the new contact in my phone for the 7th time today. I had such an amazing night with Alyissa Thompson yet the idea of having to independently message her makes me nervous. Talking in person is easy, texting is so much harder. Blaise walks over from the kitchen.
"Heyyy Jamesssss." He's says exaggeratedly dragging out his words. "How you doing bud?" Bud? Okay something is wrong.

"What's wrong?" I ask pointedly. What has he done this time. Has he spilled something on my new hoodie that he borrowed without asking? Broke something like my favourite tea mug?" I squint at him trying to grass his next move.

"Did you text Alyissa yet?" He's avoids my question.
"No not yet. Now what's wrong." I sharply reply.
"Soooo maybe if you haven't already you should check Instagram." I give him a puzzled look before checking. My feed is flooded with zoomed in screenshots of me and Alyissa last night with #Jaylissa. Oh dear this can't be good.

"Why would people think we're dating? We're just dancing. We literally only just met." I say defensively trying to sound nonchalant but it didn't exactly come out that way.
"All you have to do is look at her James."
"I don't like her Blaise. I just wanted to get to know her she seems cool!"
"Sure. Whatever you say James."

Okay see James nowhere near as bad as you were expecting. I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding in as Blaise who is now stood behind me reading my messages laughs slightly.
"Oh would you stop it!"
"James you're so niaeve! That last text she sent? Glad you text? She's into you and no matter how much you wanna deny it you're into her too!" Before I can even protest he's walked away.
