Madara's eyes widened slightly in surprise at her sudden appearance. "Another Namikaze," he mused, "how intriguing." With her eyes glowing from the heightened chakra, Mina raised her hand and released a powerful blast of wind. "Fuja's chakra enhances my own. Your Izanagi ends now!" she said. The wind blast struck Madara, breaking his concentration and ending the Izanagi technique.Naruto attempts to exit his Tailed Beast Mode but finds himself trapped by Madara's chains, which have ensnared Kurama's chakra. A White Zetsu clone advises Madara to recapture the tailed beasts in numerical order, beginning with Shukaku. Madara agrees and attempts to capture Shukaku, but Gaara intervenes with two massive hands of sand. Shukaku, surprised by Gaara's actions, recalls the words of his former jinchuriki and realizes that the time has come for humans and tailed beasts to be comrades. Madara activates his Susanoo and hurls a sword at Gaara, but Shukaku intercepts it. Madara then sends another sword across the battlefield, connecting the chains again and knocking Gaara down. As the tailed beasts are pulled into the Demonic Statue of the Outer Paths, Killer B severs one of his tentacles, and Kurama asks Gaara for a favor. Naruto is ejected from his Tailed Beast Mode and falls toward the ground. Gaara cushions his fall with sand, just as Madara successfully seals all of the tailed beasts, including Gyūki and Kurama, back into the statue. Meanwhile, Tobirama attacks Madara, but Madara quickly gains the upper hand, pinning him down with chakra rods. As Sasuke flies toward the battlefield, he remembers Hashirama's offer to give him a technique to stop Madara. Initially hesitant, Sasuke accepted after Hashirama noted that he reminded him of Madara's brother, Izuna. Madara stabs Tobirama's head with the rods, stating that it is penance for Tobirama's killing of Izuna. Sasuke appears and jumps toward them, but Madara foils the attack, suspending Sasuke in the air. Madara then takes Sasuke's dropped sword and stabs him through the chest, expressing his disappointment. With both Naruto and Sasuke on the verge of death, Gaara rushes Naruto to Tsunade, Shizune, and Sakura, asking them to heal him. Hinata, using her Byakugan, notices Naruto's weakening heartbeats and tries to help but is too low on chakra. Sakura, despite being almost out of chakra herself from healing others, is the only one left with enough power to save him. As she begins, she and Karin notice how serious both Naruto and Sasuke's wounds are. Sasuke, meanwhile, refuses to die, vowing to honor Itachi's sacrifice by becoming Hokage and changing the ninja world. Madara simply dismisses his statement and walks away. Mina's eyes widen as she watches the devastating scene. "This is bad," she says. "Naruto and Sasuke are both dying. We need to do something!"
Kakashi, his face grim, nods and tells Mina to stay with Minato while he goes to help. Mina grabs his arm, insisting,
"No, Kakashi. I'm going too. My healing abilities can help them." Minato agrees, telling them to go and that he will keep an eye on things. "Sakura can do it," mina adds, expressing her faith in Sakura's abilities.
