Malicent did manage to successfully escape Lestrange manor. She even managed to spell herself in her room for the past week, silencing her father's loud ranting from the other side of her door.

Word had apparently already spread about her proposed engagement to Anthony Avery. Her close friend, and cousin, Lyra Black had sent an owl. With a very detailed letter about how she couldn't believe Malicent hadn't informed her of her soon to be marriage. She was more than disappointed to find out that Malicent didn't plan on marrying the Avery heir.

Abraxas seemed to be almost as angry as Malicent was but more for the fact that he wanted something to himself for once. He didn't want his sister to take away his friend and become his wife. Something that they agreed on it would seem.

However, Malicent's isolation would soon be cut short. School resumed tomorrow. Meaning, she would be within close proximity to Avery. All the time. It would become exhausting to try and hide from him at every second but she was determined.

Although, something else related to school was on her mind. That something being Tom Riddle. After their encounter at the Leatrange ball, Malicent hadn't been able to get his chocolate eyes and fluffy curls out of her mind. He was fascinating. A mystery that she sort to solve. Not much was known of Tom Riddle, except that he was feared by many and yearned for by every female with eyes. Malicent had never seen him with a woman on his arm, nor had she ever heard any rumour of such. Yet he seemed to flirt with her easily, as if it came naturally to him but of course it did. He was a slytherin after all, as was she and manipulation was their gift. Malicent used her name and good looks to her advantage and Tom? He used fear and mind play.

It worked. Never had she had a longing thought for the boy but somehow within those five minutes, he'd gotten into her head.

With a heavy sigh, Malicent rolled over in bed, her green silk sheets wrapped around her body. She stared up at the canopy for what felt like hours but finally, sleep found her. Her dreams encased her, taking her to a place that was only possible in her own subconscious.

"Malicent!" She awoke to a pounding on her door. Her brother's voice rattling her ear drums.

"What!" Malicent lifted herself onto her elbows, her blonde hair a tousled mess from her sleep.

"You need to get up. We will be departing shortly" Abraxas spoke in a chipper tone, his footsteps echoing down the corridor until she could no longer hear them.

Her brother was always weirdly happy to go back to school. Malicent was too, but for different reasons. She enjoyed to be away from her father but Abraxas didn't face the same issues that she did. He was the Malfoy heir, he would carry on the bloodline. The ground he walked was worshipped and her father didn't dare to upset him, in fear of him not producing anymore pure blood babies.

With jealously of her brothers freedom swirling through her mind, Malicent pried herself from the comfort of her bed and made her way to the bathroom.

She showered, making sure to wash every inch of her body. Her hair was shampooed and conditioned, dripping water down her back as she climbed out of the shower.

Once dry, she pulled on a simple dark green dress. Shin length, buttons running up the front, right up to the collar. Her face was left mostly bare, apart from a coating of mascara to lengthen her lashes.

She decided to leave her hair as was, letting it air dry to its slightly wavy state.

Of course, as she stepped out of the comfort of her room, Abraxas was stood on the landing. His hair styled perfectly and his body clad in his usual black dress robes. She often wondered how they were even related, let alone twins. He was different, he loved the lifestyle they were born into. Malicent, did not. She would give anything to live a simple life, as she was a simple girl at heart but it was not meant to be.

She was the child that her parents never bargained for. She was the 'wonderful surprise' as her mother liked to say. More like the terrible shock. Maybe that's why she protested against their rules so much because she could feel that the love was different. She could feel their push from her whilst she witnessed their pull to Abraxas.

"About time Malicent" Abraxas rolled his grey eyes.

"Hush brother" Malicent smirked softly as she approached him. Halting at his side.

"Our sixth year, can you believe it? Big things are happening this year Malicent" Abraxas had a sinister grin on his lips. One that made Malicent's insides curl.

"And what does that mean?" She narrowed her eyes.

"Nothing for you to worry about dear sister" Abraxas patted her shoulder harshly before taking off down the stairs.

Malicent shook the worrying thoughts from her head. It was probably nothing. Probably just Abraxas being, well, Abraxas. No doubt, it would involve his group of 'friends' and the ring leader? Tom Riddle.

By the time she reached the foyer, she'd let the thoughts slip away. Taking notice of her fathers gentle hand on her brothers shoulder, the proud smile on his face. She longed for just one look like that.

She cleared her throat, alerting them of her presence. Her father instantly turned to her, an angry look, coated thickly in disappointment was all over his face but he said nothing- he simply just held his arm out for her to take.

She took it with a heavy sigh; her surroundings changed beneath her feet. Her body twisted and turned until her feet touched the concrete of platform 9 and 3/4.

The smell of steam and burning coal filled her nostrils. The red stream train that made her feel at home stood before her. Surrounded in students flurrying around. Some new and some old. The loud rumble of voices muffled together filled her ears. It was rather irritating yet, it ignited a warmth within her that she'd longed for the whole summer.

"Mr Malfoy!" Malicent swung her head around at the familiar voice. There he was, Anthony Avery waltzing towards them. His light brown hair looked slightly golden under the natural light, he was already in his robes. The unmistakable red lining, making Malicent cringe.

Even Abraxas tensed next to her, his jaw set in stone as he watched his friend approach. He glanced down at his sister before taking two steps forwards and greeting the boy.

Malicent was confused at first, until she realised. Abraxas was distracting him, allowing her to escape.

And so she did. She took off, weaving through the sea of students and families bidding farewell to each other. She'd wanted nothing more than to get back to Hogwarts but this year would be different, she'd have to spend most of it, avoiding Avery.
