"Oh my, you're really pregnant!"

Tris laughs nervously. "Yeah. Hi Evelyn," she says while struggling to get up.

I walk over and help her stand.

Tris hugs Evelyn, kind of, and sits back down.

"I thought they'd be born by now! Sorry to barge in!" She apologizes.

"No, it's fine! We have another two weeks," Tris clarifies.

"Oh! What are the genders?"

"A boy and a girl. Trevor and Tailynn," I answer.

"Aww, how cute! I love it!"

"Thanks," Tris smiles.

"So, are you both ready?!" She asks excitedly.

"Definitely," I say.

"So ready," Tris says, laughing.

"It's a struggle to carry those two around isn't it?" Evelyn asks.

"Ugh, yes! I want them out," Tris says.

I chuckle.

"So, Evelyn, were you just coming over to see if the babies were born?"

Evelyn's POV:

"Yes. I just really wanted to see them!" I say perkily. Ugh. I hate acting like this. I'm trying to throw Tris off guard.

"Oh. You didn't think to call though?" Tobias asks.

"No, I was just too excited! I thought you'd be ok with it," I lie. Tobias seems to get a clue that something's off.

"Well, yes, we'd be ok with it, I would just appreciate a phone call next time," he says.

"Oh, of course! I'm sorry," I apologize, still keeping up the act.

Tris smiles.

Ugh. Her smile is so ugly. Why did Tobias have to choose her, of all people?! I want to take something from her. Make her pay for being with my son. She doesn't deserve him. Not at all.

Tobias' POV:

Evelyn's acting suspicious. I don't like it.

"I'm sorry to come without asking, I really am."

No she isn't. I know her to well to fall for that.

"I'll leave. Can I just use your restroom first?"

"Of course Evelyn," Tris says, showing her the direction of our bathroom.

When she's gone, I look at Tris seriously.

"Tris, she's acting weird," I whisper.

"No she's not, she's just excited for her grandchildren," she whispers back.

"I don't think that's it."

I hear the toilet flush and the sink turn on.

I sigh. Something's going on.

Evelyn comes back into the living room with a smile.

"Ok, I'll be going now," she says.

Evelyn walks towards me and gives me a side hug. I don't bother to hug back.

Next she goes to Tris. Her hand reaches out from behind her back, and I see a glint of something shiny. Metal. Sharp.

"EVELYN NO!" I scream, barreling towards her.

Everything seems to go in slow motion. She reaches to hug Tris, and her right hand makes an arch, aiming for Tris' stomach. Right before it makes serious contact, I slap the knife out of her hand.

Tris stands still with her eyes wide, one hand on her stomach.

"EVELYN! GET OUT! GET OUT!" I yell.

"Tobias, I--"

"DON'T TALK TO ME! GET OUT! NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN! GO!" I scream, opening the front door.

Evelyn stands still, shocked. How could she be so shocked at my reaction when she just tried to murder my family?!

I narrow my eyes, then whisper menacingly, "Go."

She walks shamefully out the door.

Once I shut and lock the door--very quickly might I add-- I rush over to Tris.

"Tris? Tris talk to me. Did she hurt you? Are you hurt? Are the twins hurt?" I ask, frantically babbling.

"Tobias," she whispers.

"Tris, please tell me your ok."

"Tobias, she nicked me--"

I cut her off by lifting her shirt, seeing a small cut. It shouldn't have hurt the twins.

"Oh, thank God," I say, tearing up.

"Tobias," she whispers once more.

"Is something wrong? Are you ok?"

"Tobias," she takes a deep breath, "my water broke."
