"It is three in the morning..." she groaned tirelessly.
"Somethings wrong with b/n...his eyes are bleeding and his head hurts so he won't stop crying. I wouldn't call you if I wasn't worried but it's been going on for hours,"
"I'll meet you there," you heard her getting up and you hung up the phone.
You backed your car up and then proceeded to start driving, the moment you did b/n finished his drink and started crying again. You kept glancing back at him because the sound of his cries was heartbreaking, you knew he was in pain but it was a constant pain that he couldn't express any better than just screaming.
You were completely fine the first time around without Satoru, you went through pregnancy,
delivery and even raised him by yourself for three years before Satoru was even in the picture.
So why was this time so much harder than before?
You kept driving and did your best to not let his crying distract you from the drive. He kept screaming in pain and you were mostly worried he'd end up choking from how harshly he was crying.
——
"How long has he been like this?" Shoko asked in the middle of wiping b/n's eyes on the medical table.
"Since 2:15...so roughly two hours," you rubbed your forehead in distress and stood behind her, he was still crying but it was a little quieter than before.
"Jeez, you should've come earlier. He'll be fine just give him these whenever his head hurts...he's reacting this way due to Satoru's sudden absence. It's causing a shift in the cursed energy in his body since he gets his six eyes from Satoru, Satoru's presence changes a lot more than you'd think," she handed you a pill bottle and you nodded.
He started to calm down himself after Shoko gave him one of those pills. You stood up and put the pill bottle in your pocket, you were finally relieved for things to be silent again.
"Now it's your turn," she turned around to face you.
"My turn? For what?"
"To get some rest and calm down. You can't be stressed like this all the time, it's not healthy and Satoru would be throwing a fit right now if he knew how stressed out you've been," she slipped her gloves off and you went to go pick up b/n off the table.
"I'm fine, just a rough night," you picked him up and he put his hands behind your neck to hold on to.
"Whatever you say. Call me if anything else happens," she slid out a box of cigarettes out her pocket and you started to walk toward the door.
You shut the door behind you and glanced at b/n's tired eyes that were slowly falling shut. It was dark out and you were beyond exhausted, you headed for the car and got him back in his car seat.
——
"Don't go," he mumbled after you laid him down.
You sat on the floor next to him and held his hand since he didn't want to let go anyway. He was having a really hard time without Satoru, it would've been better if you were more capable of roughhousing with him but you weren't.
You handed him his bottle of whole milk that had been sitting in the fridge. He drank the bottle until he fell asleep and he wasn't holding your hands as tight.
You moved your hand and stood up, all you wanted was to get some sleep. You shut his door behind you and headed off back into your bed where you fell asleep almost immediately.
—
"Poke poke poke," b/n whispered and poked your stomach from under the blanket.
He had his head under the blanket in your bedroom and leaned over, you woke up to the feeling of him poking you and you moved the blanket.
