"married, what are you saying Satra?"
"I'm asking you to marry me baby" Satra smiled.
"no, I can't let you do that it's not fair to you, you have your own company to run and ... and ..."
"just say yes baby and let me handle the rest"
"but you don't love me" Phadet replied.
"this isn't about love, this is about keeping control of the companies that your father worked for" Satra replied neither confirming nor denying Phadet's statement.
"but I wouldn't be controlling them, you would" Phadet replied.
"only until you learn everything that you need to know, you grant me temporary power of attorney then I help you just as I said I would whilst buying you more time"
"so what happens after that, will we be getting a divorce?" Phadet asked him and didn't understand why the prospect hurt so much.
"when I think that you are ready we can review our living arrangements of course if that's what you want" Satra replied.
"then I don't suppose I have any choice do I" Phadet replied.
"not if you want a shot at keeping control of your fathers companies' no" Satra replied.
"so what now?"
"now we go to my office as planned and you leave everything to me, I don't want you to worry about a thing" Satra replied but Phadet was worried.
"will we have to ... you know" Phadet asked him.
"what? ahhh you mean consummate the marriage?" Satra replied making Phadet blush.
"you don't have to do anything that you're not comfortable with, I promise" Satra said.
"are you implying that you'd be happy to do it?" Phadet asked him
"I'm a young healthy male with needs, why wouldn't I be happy to make love to my spouse?" Satra replied.
"I'm not so sure about all this ..." Phadet said blushing at Satra's words.
"well you'd better make your mind up fast baby, we need to leave for the office and I have call's to make"
"you're rushing me, I need time to think"
"time is a luxury you don't have sweetheart" Satra said.
"well then I reiterate, I don't have any choice" Phadet replied.
"and you think I do? do you think it would be easy for me to walk away and let you sink into the mire!"
"but why should you care so much?"
"I'm damned if I know!" Satra replied before heading upstairs to shower and change.
Phadet watched him walk away and wondered why he had suddenly become so snippy, he was acting as if he wanted this but that couldn't be right, no one wanted to feel pressured to marry, to be trapped in a marriage of convenience with someone that they didn't love.
Satra's words came back to haunt him ... "why wouldn't I be happy to make love to my spouse" and he felt his body stir and blushed again wondering what it would be like.
When they were dating they had kissed but the kisses had been chaste, just a connecting of lips and Satra had said at the time that he was happy to wait until he felt ready but that time had never come.
They had parted ways not long after and Phadet remembered feeling grateful that he hadn't spread his legs too soon.
He understood why Satra was suggesting that they marry and if it worked it would be great for the companies but what about his sanity? Deep down he was still as attracted to Satra as he had been over fifteen years ago and if they divorced later he wasn't sure he could take the separation again.
