Operation: Revival
Prologue – Buried Truths
There was a time when the CID was untouchable.
Not because they were feared—though they were. Not because they carried guns or badges or authority—though they did.
It was because they were the last line. The ones who stepped in when everyone else stepped back.
But even giants fall.
And sometimes, not by force—by betrayal.
It started with a case. Routine at first glance—a missing investigative journalist named Anaya Thakur.
Young. Bold. Known for chasing the kind of truth people died to protect. Her last article had hinted at something massive: a corruption ring stretching from politicians to police to corporate moguls.
CID took the case.
ACP Pradyuman had a bad feeling—too many red flags. But walking away had never been their way. Justice demanded answers.
Anaya's apartment had been scrubbed clean. Her laptop erased. But Daya and Abhijeet, relentless as ever, uncovered digital remnants—a half-burned backup drive, tampered phone records, a terrified whistleblower hiding in the slums.
Shreya and Purvi, meanwhile, found a chilling thread: Anaya had sent forensic evidence to Dr. Tarika before she vanished. DNA traces, signed documents, financial transfers... and names. Names of people in power.
It was explosive.
Thus began Operation Echo.
Unofficial. Unapproved. Dangerous.
The team worked in the shadows. Late-night meets. Burned phones. Silent breakdowns.
They unmasked traitors within the system—men they once saluted, names they once respected.
They had the evidence. They had the plan.
Until it all blew apart.
The Final Night
They were to arrest three top officials—cornered at a remote farmhouse. The CID team had prepared for resistance, not betrayal.
A leak happened. A tip-off.
By the time CID reached, the place was a trap. Empty. Cameras hidden. Armed mercenaries guarding every inch.
The team walked straight into a setup.
Shreya was grazed by a bullet. Tarika almost got caught in the crossfire. Abhijeet saved her by inches. Daya nearly went down shielding Shreya. They escaped—but barely.
And the next morning?
Headlines roared:
"CID Goes Rogue – Assaults Officials in Political Setup"
"ACP Pradyuman's Secret Operation Under Fire"
"Internal Conflict Splits CID — End of an Era?"
Files were seized. Evidence declared "inconclusive." Witnesses disappeared overnight. Operation Echo... was buried.
ACP was forced into retirement.
Daya and Abhijeet were suspended indefinitely.
Shreya, Tarika, and Purvi were reassigned separately, with strict non-communication clauses.
Sachin disappeared. Some said he went dark. Others whispered he was silenced.
CID was dismantled—not by criminals, but by those it once protected.
The Goodbye That Wasn't Enough
The CID Bureau echoed with silence.
Not the peaceful kind—but the hollow, suffocating quiet of something that once lived... now standing empty.
