The only exception

Chapter 2

I made his coffee and set it on the counter.
"Here you go. It's 3.85£." Just as I said that, his phone rang. He angrily grabbed it out of his pocket and answered.

"What happened?!" I wonder what he's so angry about. "Yeah. I said I was coming and I'll be there in 10 minutes!! You can wait a little bit longer," he yelled into his phone. He put his phone back in his pocket.
"Let me see your phone real quick, darling."

"Wh-what?" He chuckles.

"Just give me your phone." I reached out my hand with my phone. He quickly typed something and gave it back.

"I'll call you." He pulled out a 50£.

"Damn it. I gotta go. Keep the change. I'll see you soon, Sweetheart." He started to lean in and was moving towards my cheek. Why was he going to kiss my cheek? I don't even know him. I get so anxious and nervous when people touch me so I took a step back.

"Have a nice day, Harry." He was smirking the whole time but his face quickly went blank after I said that.

Harry's point of view

I was kinda pissed and really annoyed that she just took a step back like that when I was just going to kiss her cheek? But really I don't even know why the fuck I wanted to kiss her cheek! I've never kissed anyone's cheek. I'm never affectionate. I've never been rejected before and this feels so weird. I shouldn't even care so why do I? She's just another girl. She's so innocent. I'll fuck her and forget her like I always do.

Those fuckers can't do anything!! All I wanted was to sleep away this massive hangover. I feel so shitty. I'm so bloody tired. This coffee better help. They keep calling me when I told them I'm coming. They can fucking wait! They should be able to do this shit themselves.

Louis called me when I was at Your Daily Grind and I was so pissed because I just wanted to talk to the girl, Char. Damn she was beautiful.

I'm on my way to the warehouse now. There's a new gang in town and they are taking too many of our customers. Loyal my ass. They're going to get it along with everyone who is now buying drugs and weapons from them. I pulled into the parking lot by the warehouse and got out. This is where we have the meetings and well just everything.

"Nice of you to finally join us, Styles!" It was Louis being a little shit like always.

"Oh fuck off!" I hollered at him. They were all sitting at the table when I came in so I walked to the head of it and sat down with them.

I asked, "Is Jake still meeting with Ralph and Michael?" They are in the Wild Bulls gang. Jake is the real brains in my gang. He was able to hack into their system and track them down. Ralph and Michael are the two main drug dealers. Jake is meeting with them and a few of our other guys. They think he is buying drugs. Oh, are they in for a surprise.

"Yes. Of course. In a few nights they are going to our club," said Liam.  Jake had to go to his sisters wedding so he won't be back for a couple more days. Niall, Liam, Louis, Nate and Zach are my top guys and they're all at the meeting with a few of the other guys.

"We'll all go to the club and a few other guys will be around. Jake will meet Michael and Ralph and go outside to the back alley for what they think will be the exchange. Ethan and John will already be waiting. I don't think they'll have more than a couple guys with them. Louis, you'll go with  me outside to make sure none of them get away while everyone else keeps an eye on the inside." I said, hoping this would be finished quickly. We don't need another gang around here. I cannot stop thinking about Charlie. She is on my mind the whole time during the meeting. I have to go see her.
"Meeting dismissed. I'll see you all tomorrow."
We all walked out and went our separate ways.

I went back to the coffee shop. HER coffee shop. What? I need another damn coffee! The door dinged when I walked in. There was a short line. I saw her at the register taking someone's order. I stood to the side just watching her. After she handed out all the drinks, she was talking and laughing with another guy behind the counter who helped make the customers' orders. That bastard. She should be laughing at my jokes.  I know they're funnier.

"Bye Charlie! Call me when you're off!"
He kissed her check and I clenched my fists. What is wrong with me I thought. I shouldn't care about what just happened. She's a beautiful girl. Of course she has a boyfriend. Like that's ever stopped me before. I smiled to myself just thinking about what I'd like to do to her. I walked up to the counter and she seemed surprised.

"H-hi Harry. Do you want another drink?"

"Hi baby. No, I just came to ask when you're off."

"In an hour but my coworker wants me to have a movie night with him." I don't know why but this infuriated me.

"That guy who was just here? Who the hell is he!?" He better not have touched her before. She giggled and looked at me all innocently. Even her laugh is cute. Oh god this bitch is driving me insane. She's just another one night stand. A beautiful one. She looked embarrassed.

"He's my friend and he's gay." Wow I'm such a dumb ass. Of course he's gay. He dresses too nice and Char is just too innocent. I can tell she's never had a boyfriend before. Never even kissed a guy.

"You can watch one movie and then I'll pick you up. Be ready at 9, Char."
