David Mihali ran. It's not often that you see a soldier running away not from the sharp claws of the enemy on the battlefield, but from Andrássy Avenue, from an army of microphone-wielding TV and radio operators... in other words, from the press. From the press, and its frustrating, stubborn, soul-crushing questions that had to be answered. If the lieutenant had wanted to answer, he wouldn't have run away from them. In between, they shouted things like: "Lieutenant Mihali, how did you manage to capture all of Romania in such a short time?" "Please answer, how did you survive the battles?" "Were there moments when you thought this was the end?" So they were pretty ruthless.
It had been 9 days since the people of Pest had annoying Mihali, who was enduring his girlfriend's absence more tensely every day. He wanted to hold the girl in his arms from the moment he arrived, but she simply wasn't there! And wasn't there! And that hurt him, more than the war, more than any scar, more than the press chasing him. Even while he was running, he could only think of Pearley's sky-blue eyes, which shone brighter in his dusty memory than all the stars in the sky at once. He wanted to hold her tiny, snow-white hands compared to his own, which were still soft even when hundreds of scars were bleeding on them. He wanted to taste The Perfect Mouth! Pearley's perfect mouth! David smiled at the thought, even closing his eyes for a minute.

"Juan! Oh my God! You can't always get away with it, I'm your superior... well, no, but I could be!" Árpád Nimrode shouted after the rushing Korean girl. "No way are you my superior! You'll never be!" the secretary shot back. "I'm only here on assignment! And if I have to hurry somewhere else, then I'm sorry, but I have to hurry somewhere else! Even a schoolboy would understand!" Juan knew that he could talk to the Hungarian Prime Minister in any way, because Nimrode was looked down upon by the bigwigs of the Empire. He was always the one they talked about in the London Office, in the Imperial headquarters, when they couldn't laugh at anything else. Of course, this was only typical of the deputy dictator's inner circles.
Juan wasn't really in a hurry, just out of there! Out of that madness, far from Nimrode. He ran as fast as his slight excess weight and high heels would allow. Out of Parliament, out into the street.

David closed his eyes for just a moment...

Juan only tripped once...
:)
Boom, here we go! David was taken by surprise. His eyes had been closed for longer than he had thought, but he could no longer hear the loud roar of the press, they were drowned out by the noise of the cars. Juan fell over, David fell across him. Juan only felt that something heavy was falling on him even after the painful fall."Lady, don't be angry, I didn't mean to, oh, please forgive me" Mihali immediately jumped up and offered his hand to his best friend, whom he didn't even recognize just now. "What are you talking about, David? I'm Juan" The girl said with a smile, then pulled herself up. David came to his sences, his eyes twinkling with joy "Juan!" "David, wow" "Juaaaaaaaaan!" they kept savoring each other's names until they fell into each other's necks laughing. It was a long, rocking hug. That "I haven't seen you in a thousand years" kind of hug. "I haven't seen you in a thousand years" David shouted happily "Oh my God, I finally have some joy in this fucking life!" and only then did they part. "You lovey, tell me, what's happened with you?" with that, as if they hadn't bumped into each other (literally) half a minute ago, they set off towards David's accommodation on foot."Oh, so what! I'm slowly inheriting Korea, they're constantly sending in missile development, have you seen the latest model, the ICMB 0.3?" Juan grumbled enthusiastically. "There's 0.3 already? I didn't even know there was a 0.2," David laughed. After all, he would be the soldier, and he doesn't know anything about such developments. "How could it not be! Man, it's been there since the spring of 2026! But ahhjj, there's so much to do!" the girl wilted "I want to do so many things, I really want it to be better. But I don't even have that much strength... it's so annoying! Why aren't I omnipotent!? I'd never get tired..." "That might come in handy for me too," David muttered. "And now, I should be at home checking blueprints for tanks and approving curricula, but I'm working here in the middle of nowhere! I can't find anything I need in Budapest... there's not even a handsome boy here! Don't take it upon yourself..." "I won't, just don't let Dietrich hear about it," the lieutenant chuckled.David let Juan complain about her life to him, and then David complained to Juan:"The fire of love burns in my young heart!" He quoted the second stanza of Sándor Petőfi's poem "But I can't find my Illuska on the river bank." Illuska was the chosen girl in the aforementioned poem, with whom the main character was in love and who was washing dishes in the river at the beginning of the story. But David's Illuska, Pearley... at most, she could wash bloody clothes in the river in the Icelandic Labor Camp. But David still needed the girl! Ugly, murderously, she was still more beautiful than the devil. And David saw a real angel in her. "Oh, you poor noble hero!" Juan lamented, but her mouth tilted up.
