The next morning, before heading out, Misaka felt a pang of worry for Last Order. She pulled out her phone and dialed Accelerator's number. After a few rings, he answered with a typically unenthusiastic tone.
Accelerator: "What?"
Misaka: "Hey, it's me. Just... checking in. Is Last Order alright?"
There was a brief pause on the other end.
Accelerator: "...Yeah. She's fine."
Misaka: "Good. Listen, I was thinking... we should probably get her some clothes. You know... since she was, well..." Misaka trailed off, feeling awkward.
Accelerator: "Naked. Yeah, I noticed." His tone was dry.
Misaka: "Right. So, how about I meet you both at the mall later? We can buy her some things."
Another pause.
Accelerator: "Tch. Fine."
Misaka: "See you there."
Later that day, Misaka met Accelerator and Last Order at a bustling mall. Last Order, still wearing the oversized t-shirt, looked around with wide-eyed wonder. Accelerator trailed slightly behind them, looking utterly out of place amidst the shoppers.
Misaka: "Alright, first things first, let's get you some proper clothes." Misaka smiled at Last Order, taking her small hand.
Last Order beamed. "Clothes! Like Onee-san's?"
Misaka: "Something like that."
Accelerator just watched them, a neutral expression on his face as they headed towards a children's clothing store.
Misaka glanced at Accelerator, who was standing a little apart, looking as though he'd rather be anywhere else.
Misaka: "Hey, you..." she began, then hesitated, thinking. "You really don't remember your name, huh?"
Accelerator turned his head slightly, his brow furrowed. "Hmm? Why bother remembering something pointless?" He replied dismissively.
Misaka: "But... it's weird not having a name. How about... I give you a nickname?" Misaka suggested impulsively.
Accelerator gave her a flat look. "A nickname? Why go to the trouble?"
Misaka: "Well... 'Accelerator' is too long. And 'White-Haired Guy' sounds kind of rude coming from Last Order." She glanced at Last Order, who was happily hugging her frog.
Misaka thought for a moment, then a small smile touched her lips. "How about... 'Aksa'?"
Accelerator frowned slightly. "Aksa? What's a stupid name"
Misaka: "It just... sounds cool. Short and easy to say. What do you think?"
Accelerator was silent for a moment, considering Misaka's suggestion. He glanced at Last Order, who was now looking at him with curious eyes.
Accelerator: "...Whatever." He said finally, though there was a hint of reluctance in his voice.
Misaka smiled. "Okay, Aksa it is then." She tried out the name. "Sounds alright, right?"
Last Order: "Aksa! Aksa! That's easy to say! Misaka approves and shall now scream it at maximum volume, says Misaka as Misaka celebrates name-giving ceremony!"
Misaka blinked, then looked at Last Order. "How about for you... 'Chika'?" she suggested, then added playfully, "Unless Aksa wants to suggest one."
Last Order giggled, clapping her hands. "Chika! Chika!" she repeated happily, clearly adopting the name.
Accelerator just let out a soft "whatever," but didn't object.
