The sun awakes with blinding light;
A soft palette of pink and white.
Birds chirp as they ascend in flight,
Watching below all within sight.
Further above, at its great height,
The sun sets golden fields alight.
The breeze lifts the whimsical kite,
Floating high with all its small might.
Pink and purple clouds to the right
Bid the world a peaceful goodnight.
Light and dark skies briefly unite,
Promising to meet the next night.
Midnight has come, so dim and slight
Casting beams of silver moonlight,
Held aloft by the stoic knight,
Chasing away the crafty sprite.
Morning to noon, noon to midnight,
The sun and moon nod respect requite.
Performing their unchanging rite,
They greet each new day with delight.
