With Home in Mind

Clattering iron wheels direct my passage,

countryside I can see, but cannot touch.

Ears filled with Floydian guitar,

eyes drinking the view,

mind dancing

and alive

withrecent memories of wordplay,

laughter, fun and friends.

The scenes play, cinematic, in my mind.

As London recedes with the miles,

it's complex marriage of old and new

bustle through my thoughts.

Jostling streets,

and wonderful, eclectic, cultural blend.

Full on,

mad,

chaotic,

enticing,

dangerous,

yet inspiring.

And the green fields that whisper by

promise a renewal of love;

a reuniting.

After the chaos,

I long for peace.

The calm,

before the perfect storm of family life.

So, home

to the rolling green,

and cherished memories of youth.

And love.

And life.

To write on in the calm serenity of madness,

but with the future in mind.

Daydreaming my way home.

Pondering this dangerous, but irresistible, past-time.

Words,

thoughts,

and memories,

A complex marriage of old and new...

Funny what a trip to London can do to your marbles… fun though =] Had a great time at Nibfest with some great writers, and of course the lovely Natasha and her friend Kerry.
