"You're so rude." I heard him say that. My eyebrows automatically furrowed, and my head immediately turned.
"Ako ba ang pinaparinggan mo?"
"Why? Affected? But, who else?"
So, ano, kinakampihan niya 'yong matandang 'yon?
No way!
"I'm being nice, but that old lady is trying my patience."
Before he could respond, Instructor Maawain’s voice cut through the tension like a knife.
"Ms. Delgado! Do you have something to share with the class?" she snapped, eyes narrowing at me.
Great! Here we go again. I could feel the eyes of my classmates boring into me, waiting for the next dramatic exchange. Theo didn’t seem to care much though, he just leaned back in his chair, and a faint smirk still lingering on his lips.
I let out an exaggerated sigh, straightening my posture as I looked up at Mrs. Maawain, pretending to be completely innocent.
"No, Ma'am," I said in my sweetest, most angelic voice, even though inside, I was screaming.
"Alright. Let's move on. But I’m watching you, Ms. Delgado," then turning back to the front of the room.
Tss. Whatever, Ma’am!
I don't need her validation. I don't need anyone’s validation, honestly.
Isn't that great?" I said to Tiffany, who seemed more focused on her phone than on me.
I let out a small frustrated sigh as I continued to rant. "Okay, fine, maybe I was the one who started it. I mean, I followed him around like a lost puppy, but it’s not like he didn’t enjoy the attention! But seriously, why is he so hard to figure out? I know he wants to flirt with me, but he just can’t bring himself to admit it! And that’s what makes it so annoying. He thinks he can just keep playing cool while I’m here, being the first to call him out on his nonsense. But now, he’s actually talking to me more. Like, can’t he just get over himself?"
I threw my hands up in the air in exasperation, watching Tiffany typing something on her keyboard like it was the most important thing in the world.
Tiffany, hello? I'm having a life crisis here! Baka naman gusto mo akong pansinin, girl?!
"Why does he do that?" I continued, ignoring the fact that Tiffany wasn’t really paying attention. "He acts like he’s not interested, but every time I talk to him, he can’t seem to stay away. It's like he wants to play hard to get, but he’s not fooling anyone. I mean, he's just so... predictable! He’ll pretend like he doesn’t care, but then he’ll throw in some little comment or tease me, like hello?
I paused, waiting for Tiffany to respond, but she didn’t even look up. I frowned, leaning closer to her. "Don’t you think that’s weird? Like, if he really didn’t care, wouldn’t he just ignore me completely? But no, he can’t resist!"
Marami pa sana akong gustong sabihin, kaso'y parang nasa ibang dimensyon itong kasama ko. I snapped my fingers in front of her face to get her attention. And finally, Tiffany lifted her gaze from her phone, raising an eyebrow. "Huh? Ano 'yon, girl?"
