"Wait!" Dex hissed, throwing out his arms to stop Sophie and Biana, who were on each side of him. He couldn't physically stop Fitz or Stina, but they paused at his words anyway. "If we take one more step, we'll officially be on the Sencens' security footage."

"Okay," Fitz said slowly. "But you said you had a plan for that, so...?"

"I do." Dex pulled something out of his pocket. It looked like a crude conglomeration of magnets and wires loaded up into what looked like a makeshift slingshot. "I'm going to launch this at the main mansion. As soon as it lands, the exact physics is complicated, but all the security cameras will go dark. When they check the footage later, they won't find anything."

"So there will be no proof of our well-intended transgressions," Biana concluded, "and even if their lawyers do come after us, they'll have no evidence. Nice work, Dex!"

Dex preened at his girlfriend's praise. "Oh, it's no problem at all."

"Do we have the staff uniforms?" Stina asked.

Fitz nodded. "I brought three for you, Sophie and Dex. The Sencens' house staff might recognize Biana and I, so instead I brought us some of our most obnoxious, pretentious formalwear."

Biana's eyes lit up. "We go in as wealthy family friends who refuse to be asked questions, being shown in by three fellow members of the staff. Brilliant." She clapped her hands together. "This is terrific."

"After that, it's just a matter of finding where Gisela Sencen keeps her phone," Dex finished. "Once I can clandestinely get my hands on it, I should be able to obliterate that photo from having ever existed on her phone. I can also hack into it and trace anyone she might have sent it to, effectively undoing any damage she may have already tried to do."

"Let's just hope we aren't too late," Sophie said anxiously. She wasn't just talking about keeping Keefe's cheating from being exposed, and if the way Biana met her eyes was any indicator, she understood exactly what Sophie meant.

I hope I'm not too late for Keefe to trust me again.

"Okay, let's get one thing clear right now," Stina said.

"Is it going to be how you managed to follow Keefe and I across the country?" Sophie asked pointedly.

Stina waved her off, not bothering to answer. "Is this a theft or a kidnapping? Or both? Are we here for Lady High-and-Mighty Heels Sencen's little blackmail device, or are we here to steal her son?"

Biana hummed, thinking this over in her head, though she didn't seem half as bothered by the reminder of the illegality of their actions as Sophie felt inside. This is serious. Right. "I think it's more like, the photo was stolen off of Sophie, right? Gisela lied to get it from her, so that's like... some kind of fraud or something, I don't know. And then she kidnapped Keefe, because Keefe didn't want to go with her, so now we're just rescuing him." She smiled proudly. "See? We're the good guys."

"Makes sense," Dex agreed brightly. "So let's do this!"

All of them were sufficiently dressed to character. Sophie, Dex and Stina wore outfits identical to those worn by the Sencens' staff, and Fitz and Biana no longer looked like successful, popular college students, but like Vackers, those of the stuffy, wealthy variety, who would not take questions from anyone who cared to ask them. "Right this way," Dex said deferentially, bowing slightly as he gestured for Fitz and Biana to follow him towards the main doors to the house.
